A method and a classification configuration module for managing a classification configuration for traffic, related to a service, in a software defined network are disclosed. The classification configuration module receives the classification configuration from a service related module. The classification configuration includes a first indication indicating a traffic treatment for the traffic, and a second indication identifying the traffic to be treated according to the first indication for traffic treatment. The classification configuration module determines, based on the classification configuration, a set of traffic filters for use by a software defined network controlling module to determine a list of service functions implementing the traffic treatment for the traffic. The classification configuration module transmits information relating to the set of traffic filters to the software defined network controlling module.

The neighboring peer set includes a source peer set and/or a destination peer set, the source peer set includes one or more source peers, the source peer is a peer that advertises original routing information including the routing prefix to the network device, the destination peer set includes one or more destination peers, and the destination peer is a peer to which the network device advertises destination routing information including the routing prefix.

This application provides a slice authentication method and an apparatus. One example method includes: initiating, by a first network function (NF), slice authentication between a terminal device and an authentication server for a slice; sending, by the first NF, identification information of a first network, identification information of the slice, and identification information of the terminal device to the authentication server, wherein the first NF is an NF in the first network; and receiving, by the first NF, a slice authentication result for the slice, the identification information of the slice, and the identification information of the terminal device from the authentication server.

Local controller for local API authorization method and apparatus
Some embodiments provide a local controller on a set of host computers that reduce the volume of data that is communicated between the server set and the set of host computers. The local controller executing on a particular host computer, in some embodiments, receives a portion of the namespace including only the policies (e.g., opcode) that are relevant to API-authorization processing for the applications executing on the particular host computer provided by a local agent executing on the computer to authorize the API requests based on policies and parameters. The local controller analyzes the received policies (e.g., policy opcodes) and identifies the parameters (e.g. operands), or parameter types, needed for API-authorization processing (e.g., evaluating the policy opcode upon receiving a particular API request) by the local agent. In some embodiments, the local controller performs this analysis for each updated set of policies (e.g., policy opcodes).
SIDECAR PROXY AS A SERVICE
Disclosed are embodiments for injecting sidecar proxy capabilities into non-sidecar applications, allowing such non-sidecar applications to communicate with a service mesh architecture. In an embodiment, a method comprises receiving a request to instantiate a proxy for a non-sidecar application at a service mesh gateway (SMG). The SMG then instantiates the proxy in response to the request and broadcasts network information of the non-sidecar application to a mesh controller deployed in a containerized environment. Finally, the SMG (via the proxy) transmits data over a control plane that is communicatively coupled to the mesh controller.

The method performed by the master node operable in the communication network comprises receiving prediction(s) based on training data from local nodes in the communication network; and determining weight parameter(s) associated with the local nodes based on the current received prediction(s) and past received predictions. The method further comprises adjusting a respective local reporting policy for one or more local nodes based on the determined weight parameter(s).
