METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR MANAGING EDGE WEB SERVICES
In one aspect, a computerized method for implementing edge web services includes the step of providing an edge device. The edge device is provided for free to a customer. The method includes the step of monitoring a usage on the edge device by the customer. The method includes the step of charging an edge-device entity based on the usage of the edge device and an application in the edge device. An orchestrator communicates the edge device usage statistics to an enterprise system that provided the edge device to the customer.
CHARGING METHOD, APPARATUS AND SYSTEM
A charging method, apparatus and system are provided. The charging method includes: receiving a first request message from a Network Function (NF), wherein the first request message carries following information: first Quality of Service (QoS) information; or second QoS information; or second QoS information and updated first QoS information; the first QoS information comprises requested QoS information or negotiated QoS information; and the second QoS information comprises QoS information actually used after the NF sends a previous first request message; and performing charging according to the QoS information carried in the first request message.
Device-assisted services for protecting network capacity
Device Assisted Services (DAS) for protecting network capacity is provided. In some embodiments, DAS for protecting network capacity includes monitoring a network service usage activity of the communications device in network communication; classifying the network service usage activity for differential network access control for protecting network capacity; and associating the network service usage activity with a network service usage control policy based on a classification of the network service usage activity to facilitate differential network access control for protecting network capacity.
Data retention cost control for data written directly to object storage
Controlling data retention cost in cloud-based object storage by first obtaining current storage prices from the cloud provider for their different available storage tiers, and receiving user input for different possible retention parameters identity of data source and the retention period per storage tier. A cost calculator calculates the cost per time unit for each storage tier based on the current provider-specified price and the user-specified period. The calculated costs are displayed to the user a UI in tabular and/or graphical form. The user can change the retention period or data source parameters, and any impact of such changes on the cost will be calculated in real time and reflected in the graphical display. If the user changes the retention period to force an immediate movement of data from one tier to another, a data mover control facilitates this movement in the cloud object storage.
Remote data management
Remote data management, including: receiving, at a data storage service from a client device and via a remote data management application program interface (API), a data object; receiving, at the data storage service from the client device and via the remote data management API, a message including an indication of updated metadata and including an identification of a particular data object stored by the data storage service; and generating, in accordance with the updated metadata received from the client device, a modified data object that is a reduced version of the particular data object specified by the message received from the client device, wherein the reduced version of the particular data object is stored by the data storage service.
Computer network service providing system including self adjusting volume enforcement functionality
A Computer Network Service Providing System including Self Adjusting Volume enforcement functionality and methods for diminishing or minimizing volume leakage.
Prioritization of service restoration in microservices architecture
Information is gathered on microservice interactions. Two or more microservice failures are detected. For each microservices failure, a microservice restoration time is determined. An expected total cost of a downtime for each microservice is determined. Based on the determined expected total cost of the downtime for each microservice, an order of microservices to restore is determined.
DATA PROCESSING SYSTEMS FOR FULFILLING DATA SUBJECT ACCESS REQUESTS AND RELATED METHODS
Responding to a data subject access request includes receiving the request and identifying the requestor and source. In response to identifying the requestor and source, a computer processor determines whether the data subject access request is subject to fulfillment constraints, including whether the requestor or source is malicious. If so, then the computer processor denies the request or requests a processing fee prior to fulfillment. If not, then the computer processor fulfills the request.
Systems, apparatus, and methods for managing computer workload availability and performance
Systems, apparatus and methods are disclosed which are directed to computer program products for managing multiple instances of an application or other entities, including managing instances of an application or other entities across multiple environments, in each case while assuring application performance to the extent possible given the resources available. The disclosed management software and/or processes may also be used to ensure that an application is running in multiple geo localities (e.g., discrete and/or physically separated geographical locations).
COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, PROVIDER NODE, COMMUNICATION NODE, AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING A VIRTUAL NETWORK FUNCTION TO A CUSTOMER NODE
The disclosure is directed to providing virtual network functions to a customer node by a communication system with a provider node in an automatic, traceable, and auditable way. The provider node includes a retrieving module, a validation module, and a deployment module. The retrieving module is configured to retrieve a notification signal, wherein the notification signal is indicative of a selected one of a plurality of virtual network functions and the customer node. The validation module is configured to establish service level agreement data and to validate the agreement service level data, based on the notification signal. The deployment module is configured to selectively transmit a deployment signal to a communication node depending on the validation of the service level agreement data for providing the selected virtual network function to the customer node.
