SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PROVIDING SEGMENT ROUTING AS A SERVICE
20220311709 · 2022-09-29 ·

Disclosed is a system and method of providing a segment routing as a service application. The method includes receiving a configuration of an internet protocol environment. The configuration can be a layer 3 configuration of a single cloud environment or even across multiple cloud environments. The configuration defines routing, forwarding, and paths in the environment between different entities such as virtual machines. The method includes receiving a parameter associated with a workload of a tenant. The parameter can be a service level agreement (i.e., a best bandwidth available), a pathway requirement, a parameter associated with specific workload, and so forth. Based on the configuration and the parameter, the method includes generating tenant-defined layer 3 overlay segment routing rules that define how the workload of the tenant will route data in the internet protocol environment using segment routing.

The methods, systems, and computer readable media discussed herein are directed to maintaining status information of network functions (NFs) associated with one or more network function repository functions (NRFs). An NRF, which may be one of a plurality of NRFs belonging to a group of NRFs, maybe queried. The plurality of NRFs may be synchronized to each other, and the group of NRFs may be one of a plurality of groups of NRFs. One or more NFs may be registered with the NRF, and each NRF of the plurality of NRFs may have one or more corresponding NFs registered to it. The NRF may maintain status information of the one or more NFs registered to the NRF. The NRF may collect information associated with querying of NFs by another NF, and send statistical data based on the collected information to a user interface (UI) of an external device to be displayed on the UI.

Facilitating high quality network delivery of content over a network
09722889 · 2017-08-01 · ·

Providing for improved efficiency in delivery of content over a network is described herein. By way of example, a metric of communication related to electronic communication between a device and a network access point can be obtained and utilized to calculate or infer a resource load associated with delivering the content to the device. If the metric of communication indicates a resource load that exceeds a predetermined measure, a message can be sent to a content server originating the provisioning of content for the device. In particular aspects, the message can instruct the content server to reduce a resource-impacting characteristic of the content, or transmission of the content. The metric of communication can continue to be monitored, and the change to the resource-impacting characteristic can be maintained or revoked based on subsequent indications of the metric of communication.

TRACEROUTE TO RETURN AGGREGATED STATISTICS IN SERVICE CHAINS

A packet is received at a network device hosting a service function that is part of a service chain. The packet is sent to the network device from an originating network device. The content of the packet is analyzed to determine that the packet comprises a request for statistical values to be aggregated by the network device. The statistical values are aggregated at the network device. A report comprising the statistical values aggregated at the network device is generated. The report is sent to the originating network device.

A metric data aggregator includes a processor and a data store. The processor is configured to obtain service level metric data from a plurality of proxy servers; obtain cloud level metric data from a plurality of proxy servers and at least one load balancer; aggregate the service level metric data and the cloud level metric data; and provide the aggregated service level and cloud level metric data to a remote user. The data store configured to store aggregated cloud level and service level metric data; and retrieve the aggregated service level and cloud level metric data in response to queries.

VISUALIZATION OF COMPUTER RESOURCE QUOTAS

A system, method, and apparatus are provided for visualizing quotas on resources within a computing environment (e.g., a data center, a computing cluster) that includes multiple brokers, gateway servers, or other entities that control access to the resource(s). Through a visualization interface, an operator of a quota system can set, change, and/or delete quotas on resources and/or sub-resources for any number of clients or consumers of the resources. The visualization interface may also enable access to a log of changes to quotas and/or graphs or other displays of statuses of any selected quotas for any selected clients and resources/sub-resources.
