Secure provisioning of electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) profiles

A method of providing an electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) profile to a wireless communication device. The method comprises receiving an eSIM profile provisioning request by a subscription manager-data preparation+ (SM-DP+) server, wherein the provisioning request comprises an embedded UICC identifier (EID) number, a private identity code, and wireless communication service subscription information; building an eSIM profile package by the SM-DP+ server based in part on the wireless communication service subscription information, wherein the eSIM profile package comprises an eSIM profile, the EID number, and the private identity code; sending a notification of the availability of the eSIM profile by the SM-DP+ server to a subscription manager-discovery server (SM-DS server), wherein the notification comprises the EID number and the private identity code; and transmitting the eSIM profile package by the SM-DP+ server to the wireless communication device.

USER EQUIPMENT DISCONTINUOUS RECEPTION ASSISTANCE TO IMPROVE NETWORK CONNECTIVITY

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for a user equipment (UE) to transmit assistance information to request changes to discontinuous reception (DRX) parameters to improve performance of the UE and its connection to a wireless network. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes detecting one or more conditions; and transmitting, in response to the detection, a request to change a connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRX) configuration to a first network.

Service provider selection in a wireless network

According to one configuration, a shared wireless access node supports wireless access for multiple wireless network service providers. A mobile communication device receives notification of multiple wireless network service providers, each of which provides access to a remote network through the shared wireless access node. The notification includes connection information such as priority information assigned to the wireless network service providers. The priority information indicates an order in which to select amongst the multiple available wireless network service providers to access the remote network. Based at least in part on the priority information, the mobile communication device selects a wireless network service provider amongst the multiple wireless network service providers. The mobile communication device communicates with the wireless access node to establish a wireless communication link to access the remote network through the corresponding wireless access node using wireless services provided by the selected service provider.

ON-BOARDING 5G ROUTERS TO PRIVATE 5G NETWORK

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for on-boarding network devices onto a private 5G network. An example method can include discovering a first private 5G network upon the network device being turned on, authenticating, at the network device, the network device, downloading a second network profile from an SM-DP+ server of a second private 5G network, and on-boarding the network device to the second private 5G network.

Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE) to support dual-connectivity with a Master Evolved Node-B (MeNB) and a Secondary eNB (SeNB) are disclosed herein. The UE may receive downlink traffic packets from the MeNB and from the SeNB as part of a split data radio bearer (DRB). At least a portion of control functionality for the split DRB may be performed at each of the MeNB and the SeNB. The UE may receive an uplink eNB indicator for an uplink eNB to which the UE is to transmit uplink traffic packets as part of the split DRB. Based at least partly on the uplink eNB indicator, the UE may transmit uplink traffic packets to the uplink eNB as part of the split DRB. The uplink eNB may be selected from a group that includes the MeNB and the SeNB.

Virtualization of cellular connection as wireless local area network connection

A user equipment includes a radio frequency (RF) modem configured to wirelessly communicate with at least one mobile network operator and a wireless local area network (WLAN) modem configured to wirelessly communicate with at least one WLAN access point. The user equipment further includes a processor coupled to the RF modem and the WLAN modem and at least one memory storing executable instructions. The executable instructions are configured to manipulate at least one of the processor and the RF modem to establish a first cellular connection with a first mobile network operator based on a first subscription represented by a first subscriber identity, and virtualize the first cellular connection as a wireless local area network (WLAN) connection for use by one or more processes executed by the processor for a second subscription represented by a second subscriber identity.

Security management for restricted local operator services in communication system

Techniques for security management in communication systems are provided. For example, a method comprises maintaining a list of networks that support access for a set of restricted local operator services, checking whether a set of conditions for triggering access to the set of restricted local operator services is satisfied, receiving a request for access to the set of restricted local operator services, and initiating, upon satisfaction of the set of conditions, a search of the list of networks to find a network for access to the set of restricted local operator services.

Apparatus and methods for interworking in wireless networks

Apparatus and methods for interworking a user device in one or more wireless networks. In one embodiment, the apparatus and methods provide enhanced wireless services which enable operation of a given user device (e.g., a mobile 3GPP-compliant UE) within two or more mobile networks (e.g., PLMNs), such as a macro network and micro network. In one implementation, the UE contains multiple SIM cards to enable connection to different networks simultaneously. Accordingly, the UE can roam between two different networks seamlessly, regardless of whether the operators of each are independent or the same operator. Enhanced network capability as described herein advantageously allows for interworking between the macro and micro (e.g., small-cell) layers of the system without complicated network configuration requirements between the two operating networks as required under the prior art.

Information processing method and apparatus, storage medium, and electronic device

An information processing method, comprising: in response to that a third party application receives an information display instruction, generating a download instruction; transmitting the download instruction to a processing platform, for prompting the processing platform to download a configuration file according to the download instruction; controlling the processing platform to parse the configuration file to generate display parameters; obtaining target information by analyzing the display parameters, and displaying the target information in the third party application.

System enablers for multi-sim devices

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for enhancement of multi-SIM devices, such as UE 106. A network may increase paging retries for known MU-SIM devices, e.g., based on an indication of capabilities from a MU-SIM device. The indication may be via a NAS registration request, an RRC capability procedure, and/or an RRC UE assistance procedure. Additionally, a network may include an indication of a paging priority to the UE. The UE may then determine a response to the page based, at least in part, on the indicated priority. Further, the UE may indicate a tune-away to the network. The indication of the tune-away may include a cause and/or duration for the tune-away and may be provided at an RRC level or a network access stratum (NAS) level.
