OVERCOMING UNRESPONSIVE BEHAVIOR FROM AERIAL USER EQUIPMENT
20230054925 · 2023-02-23 ·

An architecture to eliminate situations in which aerial user equipment become unreachable by core mobile network operator equipment as a consequence of radio link failure events. A method comprises determining, based on type data, that a user equipment is an aerial user equipment, initiating a discontinuous reception timer device using defined time values, transmitting downlink data addressed to the aerial user equipment, determining, based on an expiration of the defined time values as measured by the discontinuous reception timer device and acknowledgement data associated with the transmitting of the downlink data, that the aerial user equipment is unreachable, and based on the aerial user equipment being unreachable, sending request data to base station equipment, wherein the request data facilitates the base station equipment to terminate a communication channel that links the base station equipment to the aerial user equipment.

Wearable camera, in-vehicle communication device, charging device, and communication system

A wearable camera includes an image capture device, a processor, and first and second memories. The image capture device images a subject. The first memory at least temporarily stores first communication setting information for communication with an in-vehicle communication device. The second memory stores a program that, when executed by the processor, causes the wearable camera to: perform a communication setting process that establishes a communication connection between the wearable camera and the in-vehicle communication device, delete the first communication setting information from the first memory after a lapse of a certain time from a timer reset, the timer reset occurring in response to establishment of the communication connection between the wearable camera and the in-vehicle communication device, and notify that the first communication setting information is not stored in the first memory, in response to determining that the first communication setting information is not stored in the first memory.

A method for handling a collision of a UE-requested PDU session establishment procedure and a network-requested PDU session release procedure is proposed. When a PDU SESSION ESTABLISHMENT REQUEST message indicates that the UE-requested PDU session establishment request procedure is to handover an existing PDU session between 5G 3GPP access and 5G non-3GPP access, the UE proceeds with the network-requested PDU session release procedure and aborts the UE-requested PDU session establishment procedure. Otherwise, the UE ignores a received PDU SESSION RELEASE COMMAND message and proceeds with the UE-requested PDU session establishment procedure.

Method and device for reducing power consumption by terminal in wireless communication system

The present disclosure relates to a 5G or pre-5G communication system for supporting higher data transmission rate beyond a 4G communication systems such as LTE. A method by a terminal in a wireless communication system according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: deciding the release of the connection to a secondary node; generating a connection release request message for requesting the connection release; and transmitting the connection release request message.

Connecting to a packet data network (PDN) based on priority

A serving gateway device (SGW) can cause establishment of a requested connection to a first PDN for a user device. The SGW can cause suspension of the connection to the first PDN and establishment of a requested connection to a second PDN for the user device based on a requested connection to a second PDN for a user device. The SGW can cause termination of the connection to the second PDN based on the respective end time associated with the second PDN, and cause restoration of the connection to the first PDN after the connection to the second PDN is terminated.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR OPTIMIZATION OF SIGNALING AND CONNECTION MANAGEMENT IN NON-ACCESS STRATUM

A method is provided for completing a registration procedure in a fifth generation (5G) network, comprising transmitting, by a user equipment (UE), a registration request message to the 5G network, the registration request message initiating a first registration procedure, starting, by the UE, a connection release timer in response to occurrence of a plurality of events; meeting, by the UE, at least one of a plurality of conditions; stopping, by the UE, the connection release timer in response to the meeting the at least one of the plurality of conditions; and performing, by the UE, a local release of a signaling connection in response to the meeting the at least one of the plurality of conditions if the UE is in a connected state.

Secondary cell activation and deactivation enhancements in new radio

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One method may include transmitting a first signal instructing a user equipment (UE) to transition a state of a secondary cell associated with the UE; determining an allocation of resources for the UE to communicate with the secondary cell; and transmitting a second signal including an indication of an active bandwidth part (BWP) used for the allocation of resources based on the determining. The active BWP and the first signal may indicate the transition of the state of the secondary cell.
