Systems and Methods for Remote Scan and Priority Operations
When a land mobile radio connection is unavailable for a subscriber device, the subscriber device may use an alternative connection. A gateway may be used to allow the subscriber device to connect to the zone controller of a land mobile radio network via an alternative network. The gateway may be configured to perform remote scan and priority operations, similar to the scan operations the subscriber device would ordinarily perform locally. The gateway may receive a scan list from the subscriber device and call notifications from the zone controller. Using the scan list, the gateway may evaluate the call notifications, determine whether they should be sent to the subscriber device, and send them to the subscriber device over the alternative connection. The gateway may be able to adjust the remote scan and priority operations based on receiving different scan lists from the subscriber device or by generating different versions itself.
Public information system
A method for a public information system, adapted for broadcasting a message in a first wireless access network. The first wireless access network is arranged to, at least partly, overlap one or more further wireless access networks. The method comprises initiating a modified support announcement by the first wireless access network. The modified support announcement configured to announce support for the further wireless access networks by comprising network identifiers associated with the further wireless access networks, whereby a wireless device associated with a further wireless access network is prompted to connect to the first wireless access network, and initiating broadcasting of the message over the first wireless access network, whereby said wireless device may receive the message over the first wireless access network.

A method for a public information system, adapted for broadcasting a message in a first wireless access network. The first wireless access network is arranged to, at least partly, overlap one or more further wireless access networks. There is provided mechanisms for paging at least one client node in a group communications system. A method is performed by a control node of the group communications system. The method comprises obtaining a need for paging the at least one client node in the group communications system. The method comprises transmitting a paging message for the at least one client node on a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) bearer to the at least one client node. There is also provided a control node configured to perform such a method. There is also provided mechanisms for receiving paging in a group communications system.

The method comprises obtaining a need for paging the at least one client node in the group communications system. The method comprises transmitting a paging message for the at least one client node on a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) bearer to the at least one client node. There is also provided a control node configured to perform such a method. There is also provided mechanisms for receiving paging in a group communications system.

Interrupting use of communication resources
Methods and apparatus enabling interruption of the use of communication resources by a first UE are disclosed. Interrupt requests (IR) sent from other UEs wishing to interrupt use of the communication resources by the first UE are monitored. If one or more IR are received, an interrupt requirement (IReg) is established, and the allocation of communication resources to the first UE is released in response to the IReq. In some embodiments, if a requirement for continuing use of the communication resources by the first UE is determined during a monitoring period, the IReq is reversed and the allocation of communication resources to the first UE is continued so that communication is not interrupted. Embodiments of the invention enable interruption of a high priority user by a co-ordinated or synchronised interrupt requests from UEs with lower priority.
Interrupting use of communication resources
Methods and apparatus enabling interruption of the use of communication resources by a first UE are disclosed. Interrupt requests (IR) sent from other UEs wishing to interrupt use of the communication resources by the first UE are monitored. If one or more IR are received, an interrupt requirement (IReg) is established, and the allocation of communication resources to the first UE is released in response to the IReq. In some embodiments, if a requirement for continuing use of the communication resources by the first UE is determined during a monitoring period, the IReq is reversed and the allocation of communication resources to the first UE is continued so that communication is not interrupted. Embodiments of the invention enable interruption of a high priority user by a co-ordinated or synchronised interrupt requests from UEs with lower priority.
Communication Method and Communications Apparatus
A communication method and a communications apparatus are disclosed. The method is performed by a control plane function entity and includes: obtaining a correspondence between address information of a user plane function entity and a user plane capability supported by the user plane function entity; receiving a request message from an application server, where the request message is used to request to establish a session for a first service and includes service information of the first service, and the service information includes at least one of broadcast area information and service type information; determining address information of a target user plane function entity based on the correspondence and the service information; and establishing a session connection to the target user plane function entity based on the address information.
