Coaxial cable connector with integral RFI protection
A coaxial cable connector for coupling an end of a coaxial cable to a terminal is disclosed. The connector has a coupler adapted to couple the connector to a terminal, a body assembled with the coupler and a post assembled with the coupler and the body. The post is adapted to receive an end of a coaxial cable. The post has an integral contacting portion that is monolithic with at least a portion of the post. When assembled the coupler and post provide at least one circuitous path resulting in RF shielding such that RF signals external to the coaxial cable connector are attenuated, such that the integrity of an electrical signal transmitted through coaxial cable connector is maintained regardless of the tightness of the coupling of the connector to the terminal.
Coaxial cable connector with integral RFI protection
A coaxial cable connector for coupling an end of a coaxial cable to a terminal is disclosed. The connector has a post assembled with a coupler. The post is adapted to receive an end of the coaxial cable and comprises a front end, an enlarged shoulder at the front end, and a plurality of contacting portions. The contacting portions are of monolithic construction with the post, collectively circumscribe the enlarged shoulder at the front end of the post, and extend in a generally perpendicular orientation with respect to a longitudinal axis of the connector. The coupler is rotatably attached to the post and comprises an internally projecting lip, having a forward facing surface, adapted to couple the connector to the terminal. The contacting portions are configured to contact the forward facing surface of the lip of the coupler.

A coaxial cable connector assembly includes a coupler, a rear body assembly rotatably engaged with the coupler, the rear body assembly including a stationary retention member defining an stationary retention member inner channel surface and one or more stationary retention member grooves extending inwardly from the stationary retention member inner channel surface, a movable retention member that is movable with respect to the stationary retention member in an axial direction, the movable retention member defining a movable retention member inner channel surface and one or more movable retention member grooves extending inwardly from the movable retention member inner channel surface, the one or more movable retention member grooves defining a movable retention member groove surface, and one or more compression rings positioned at least partially within the one or more stationary retention member grooves
Connection system for tiered stages
A connection system for a quantum computer that employs constant impedance connectors with attenuation or filtering components or both embedded therein or within an adaptor removably insertable within an adaptor housing for use in a cryogenically cooled quantum computer. The connection system provides a higher density of cables traversing through a hermetic sealed top plate, and which are accessible to chill blocks to reduce the thermal energy from the signal lines. Attenuators or filter circuits are embedded in the constant impedance connector housings, or provided in adaptors that connect on each end to form mating constant impedance connections, in order to reduce signal strength as the signal progresses through the cryogenic environment and to remove extraneous electrical signal noise.
Contact system for contacting a braided shield and a contact element
The invention relates to a contact system for contacting an aluminium braid (7) to a contact element (1) comprising—an electrically conducting cable (4); —the aluminium braid (7) comprising a plurality of aluminium wires, which is arranged to run at least in sections between a primary isolation (6) and a secondary isolation (8) of the electrically conducting cable (4); —die contact element (1) which can be pushed onto the electrically conducting cable (4) having an outer sleeve (3) and an inner sleeve (2) which can be inserted therein. To achieve a contact system which makes possible, in a simple fashion, a reliable contacting of an aluminium braid to a contact element without additional soldering systems being required, according to the invention the inner sleeve (2) has a first contact surface (2a) and the outer sleeve (3) has a second contact surface (3a), wherein each contact surface (2a, 3a) has areas of different size of cross-section and the contact surfaces (2a, 3a) are designed in such a manner that the aluminium braid (7) is clamped in a contact position by the inner sleeve (2) being pushed axially inside the outer sleeve (3) and contact is made with the contact element (1).
