A method for operating a tailgate of a motor vehicle, in particular a pickup, which is driven by means of an electric motor and delimits a cargo area. A disassembled state is detected, and energization of the electric motor is inhibited. Furthermore, the invention relates to a motor vehicle.

Open roof assembly for use in a vehicle and a method for operating same

An open roof assembly for use in a vehicle roof comprises a moveably arranged closure member and a drive system operatively coupled to the closure member for moving the closure member along a motion trajectory. The drive system comprises an electric motor and a control unit for controlling operation of the electric motor. The control unit comprises a mathematical model describing at least a part of the drive system; model parameters and a motion reference field. The control unit is configured to update the model parameters based on a received value of a first drive system variable; determine a value of a second drive system variable using the mathematical model; determine a comparison value by comparing the value of the second drive system value and a corresponding reference value of the motion reference field; and detect presence of an obstruction if the comparison value lies outside a predetermined value range.

A control unit controls an electric motor based on position data on a window glass, and controls an opening-closing operation of the window glass. The control unit includes a reverse rotation detector which detects a reverse rotation operation of the window glass, a reverse rotation prevention controller which performs reverse rotation prevention processing of the electric motor when a reverse rotation is detected, and a position data correction unit which corrects position data on the window glass in an initial operation after occurrence of a reverse rotation operation. If a pulse signal associated with rotation of the electric motor is not input in an initial operation after the detection of the reverse rotation operation, the position data correction unit determines that the window glass has reached a top dead center position, stops the motor, and corrects the position data with the position data at that time as an origin position.

OPENING/CLOSING MEMBER DRIVING DEVICE

An opening/closing member driving device includes a motor that opens and closes an opening/closing member and a controller configured to perform an abnormality determination process and a masking process. The abnormality determination process determines occurrence of a foreign object being entrapped or caught by comparing driving information corresponding to a driving status of the motor to a predetermined threshold value. The masking process invalidates the abnormality determination process over a predetermined masking period when the motor is activated. The controller includes a correction unit. The correction unit corrects at least one of the masking period or the threshold value when the motor is activated in a direction opposite to that of a preceding operation in a state in which the opening/closing member is in a high-load range.

Driving device with stepper motor

A driving device includes a case with a cover mounted thereto. A transmission device is received in the case and has a stepper motor and a gear reduction unit which includes multiple gears engaged with each other. The stepper motor drives the gear reduction unit which is connected to an object. A circuit board is connected with the transmission device and provides power to the stepper motor and controls the stepper motor. A sensing device has a sensor and a detector which is connected to one of the gears of the gear reduction unit. When the gear reduction unit drives the detector to pass the sensor, the sensor sends a signal to the circuit board which keeps on providing the power to the stepper motor. When no signal is sent to the circuit board by the sensor, the circuit board cuts off the power to the stepper motor.

Safety system for motor drive

Disclosed examples provide control boards with power systems that include a safety system with a protection circuit to selectively connect or disconnect first and second DC to DC converters to or from a DC input signal according to the DC input signal and a monitor signal, and a monitor circuit to provide the monitor signal according to the first and second DC to DC converter output signals.

OPENING/CLOSING DRIVE DEVICE

An opening/closing drive device drives an upwardly and downwardly movable opening/closing member. The opening/closing drive device includes a motor, a position detection sensor configured to detect a position of the opening/closing member, and a controller. The controller is configured to drive the motor in order to upwardly move the opening/closing member when determining in a state in which the motor is not driven that the opening/closing member has moved downward to a position corresponding to a predetermined threshold or lower based on a signal from the position detection sensor.

VEHICLE WITH POWER SWINGING DOOR AND POSITION-BASED TORQUE COMPENSATION METHOD

A system controls opening/closing of a power swinging door, e.g., in a vehicle, and includes a rotary actuator, position sensor, and controller. In a controller-executed method, the actuator applies torque to the door in response to control signals. The controller uses a measured raw angular position from the sensor to determine wind- or grade-based external forces acting on the door during opening or closing, and adjusts the actuator torque in response to the external forces. The sensor may be a rotary encoder, with the actuator being an electric motor. Lookup tables contain data relating oscillation to the external forces. The controller may induce door oscillation and to relate oscillation decay to the external forces. An obstacle-based current threshold may be adjusted in response to the external forces.

Machine tool collision detecting apparatus equipped with collision stress releasing device

A collision stress releasing device reversely rotates a feed motor by a return amount set in a return amount setter based on a contact position of a movement unit or a collision detection position regarded as a contact position. Generally, a large error does not occur even when the collision detection position is regarded as the contact position, but when the movement unit or the colliding member has low rigidity, a control of setting a return amount in response to the speed of the movement unit or a control of estimating an actual contact position from a rise curve of a load after a collision is more desirable.
