A service catalog has one or more electronic entries mapped to and corresponding with the IAC modules of the module catalog. The service catalog receives one or more tickets that each specify at least one of the electronic entries in the service catalog, to bind each specified electronic entry with a corresponding IAC module, causing the provisioning platform to instantiate on the more cloud providers the computing resources for the cloud infrastructure corresponding to the ticket.

A system and method are described for creating application-related infrastructure resources from an application deployment platform (ADP), but which can have a single audit trail and common enforcement point of policies. A workspace custom resource definition (CRD) is generated to define a workspace schema for the workspace. The workspace schema represents a collection of configurations and variables for operating the infrastructure resources. An infrastructure controller (IC) operator is provided to the ADP to extend the API for communication with an infrastructure controller (IC), which has a set of IC definitions that define the infrastructure resources for the workspace. The workspace is built with the infrastructure resources defined by a workspace custom resource, and the CRD is deployed to the ADP via the IC operator to create the workspace custom resource based on the collection of configurations and the one or more variables.

Methods and apparatus for interfaces to manage virtual network interface objects. A system may include resource instances and a network interface virtualization coordinator. Responsive to a record creation request, the coordinator creates an interface records that may include an IP address, subnet information and security properties. The coordinator may, in response to a request to attach the record to a resource instance, enable traffic directed to the IP address to flow to the resource instance. In response to a subsequent detach request, the traffic to the IP address may be disabled at the resource instance. The same interface record may be attached to another resource instance in response to another attach request, enabling traffic directed to the IP address to flow to the second resource instance.

Service deployment in the conventional network is very complicated. Operator needs to plan the service path in advance, and then manually configure the policy for each node on the service path. The software-definable network service configuration method disclosed in the present invention is different from the conventional network. On the one hand, the control layer has a global network resource view to more easily plan service paths for service requests. On the other hand, the control layer adopts a centralized management of physical switch nodes in the data layer via a southbound interface, which makes it easier to automatically implement policy configuration in physical switch nodes.

Service tagging optimization for intent-based networking

A method is performed to provide assurance for a service enabled on a network. A definition of the service is received. The definition includes a service type, a service instance, and configuration information used to enable the service. From the service type and the service instance, a service tag that is unique to the service is generated so as to distinguish the service from other services on the network. Based on the definition, the service is decomposed into a subservice dependency graph of subservices and dependencies between the subservices. Based on the subservice dependency graph, the subservices are configured to record and report subservice metrics indicative of health states of the subservices. The subservice metrics are obtained from the subservices. The service tag is applied to the subservice metrics to produce service-tagged subservice metrics. The service-tagged subservice metrics are analyzed to determine a health state of the service.
