Communication configuration selection
Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for communication configuration selection. One apparatus (200) includes a receiver (212) that receives (602) configuration information for multiple communication configurations. The configuration information corresponds to services having different performance requirements, and the performance requirements include latency, reliability, peak data rate, efficiency overhead, control overhead, system capacity, or some combination thereof. The apparatus (200) also includes a processor (202) that selects (604) a communication configuration of the multiple communication configurations. The apparatus (200) communicates (606) using the selected communication configuration.
ACTIVE NETWORK MANAGEMENT METHODS FOR ENSURING LIVE VOICE QUALITY
Active management of a data network facilitates the high-quality live broadcast of captured digital audio from multiple client devices present in a venue. In various aspects, the system includes a network hub. The network hub transmits and receives data from a plurality of the client devices which may be personal mobile devices. A network manager component manages communications of the client devices with the network hub. The network manager uses measured dynamic network parameters and determines conditions for maintaining audio quality according to configurable rules. The dynamic network parameters may include device qualification(s), live measured audio quality of service metrics, and unwanted data packets. In various aspects, dynamic authentication and de-authentication of client devices as well as data transmission throttling of client devices are techniques utilized for active network management. The network manager maintains audio quality for the client device configured or selected to broadcast over the public address system.
A METHOD, APPARATUS, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM
Preference information is received at a network repository function from a first network function, the preference information indicating one or more optional preferences for a respective second network function or network function service. Information is provided to the first network function about one or more second network functions or network function services, the one or more second network functions or network function services being selected taking into account the preference information.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DYNAMIC VOICE-OVER-INTERNET-PROTOCOL ROUTING
Embodiments described herein provide a dynamic voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) audio quality management mechanism in real time, e.g., when a VoIP call is ongoing. Specifically, when a VoIP call has unsatisfactory audio quality, e.g., due to packet loss, jitter, etc., the dynamic VoIP audio quality management mechanism may redirect the VoIP traffic from the previous endpoint that initiates the VoIP session to a different endpoint within the same carrier. Upon the endpoint redirection, a new call leg is established, allowing re-negotiation or re-configuration of VoIP parameters. The re-negotiated or re-configured VoIP parameters may then be used to conduct the remainder of the VoIP call to improve the audio quality.
SERVICE DELIVERY TO A ROAMING USER EQUIPMENT USING A SOFTWARE-DEFINED NETWORKING (SDN) CONTROLLER
In one embodiment, a method implemented in a virtual network function (VNF) manager for delivering of services to a roaming UE is disclosed. The method includes identifying a trigger condition for handing-over delivery of at least a subset of services from a radio interface of a source radio base station to a radio interface of a target radio base station. The method also includes transferring the subset of the services to the target radio base station through a route based on information from a software-defined networking (SDN) controller of a SDN system that includes the source radio base station and the target radio base station. The method further includes causing at least one VNF to be deployed on the target radio base station, the at least one VNF on the target radio base station being adapted to offer the subset of the services to the roaming UE.
Detecting and reporting user triggered call drops
A method for detecting user triggered call drops includes identifying one or more user terminated calls from a plurality of monitored calls. Signaling information associated with the identified user terminated calls is correlated with media channel information associated with the identified user terminated calls. A determination is made if termination of the one or more of the identified user terminated calls is related to quality of media across corresponding media channels. A predefined cause code is assigned to the one or more of the identified user terminated calls, in response to determining that the termination of the one or more of the identified user terminated calls is related to the quality of media across the corresponding media channels.
Apparatus, system, and method for obtaining quality of service parameter of voice over internet protocol service
An apparatus, a system, and a method for obtaining a quality of service parameter of a voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service are presented. The apparatus obtains a quality of service parameter of a VoIP service, and the apparatus sends a quality parameter report of the VoIP service to a centralized processing device. The quality parameter report of the VoIP service includes the quality of service parameter of the VoIP service, such that a network system obtains quality of service of the VoIP service according to the quality of service parameter of the VoIP service, further helping an operator control and adjust the network system based on the quality of service of the VoIP service.
Active wireless network management to ensure live voice quality
A system for managing moderator and audience audio captured by personal mobile devices and broadcast by a public address system in the same venue is disclosed. In various aspects, the system includes a wireless network hub. The wireless network hub transmits and receives wireless data from a plurality of personal mobile devices. A network manager component manages communications of the personal mobile devices with the wireless network hub. The network manager uses measured dynamic network parameters and determines conditions for maintaining voice stream quality according to configurable rules.
Systems and methods for QoS aware SIM refresh
A computer device may include a memory storing instructions and processor configured to execute the instructions to receive a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) refresh request. The processor may be further configured to identify one or more Quality of Service (QoS) classes for which, if an active communication session exists that is associated with at least one of the QoS classes, a SIM refresh should be rejected; access a database of active communication sessions associated with the UE device; determine that an active session, stored in the database of active communication sessions, is associated with at least one of the one or more QoS classes; and reject the SIM refresh request based on determining that the active session is associated with at least one of the one or more QoS classes.
