A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing computer-readable instructions for a mobile terminal is provided. The computer readable instructions may cause the mobile terminal to transmit authentication information, indicating authorization of the mobile terminal to instruct a facsimile machine to execute a facsimile transmitting action with use of first sender information, to a facsimile machine; determine receipt of the first sender information transmitted from the facsimile machine; transmit first facsimile instructing information for instructing the facsimile machine to execute the facsimile transmitting action with use of the received first sender information to the facsimile machine in response to determination of receiving the first sender information; and transmit second facsimile instructing information for instructing the facsimile machine to execute the facsimile transmitting action without using the first sender information to the facsimile machine in response to determination of not receiving the first sender information.

Embodiments of a fax system may be adapted to selectively configure the protocol (both the type of protocol or aspects of a particular protocol) used in association with the transmission or reception of a specific fax. The configuration of the protocol utilized can be based on one or more attributes associated with a sender or a destination. The fax can then be transmitted or received according to those configuration parameters.

An image forming apparatus comprising: a wireless communication circuitry configured to make a wireless communication with a portable information processing device including: a display unit for displaying a simplified job setting screen on the portable information processing device side; and an operation unit for displaying a full job setting screen on the image forming apparatus side; and a computer and a memory storing a program causing the computer to execute: a recognition step recognizing a portable information processing device that is within a communicable range through communication via the wireless communication circuitry; a job setting step receiving a job setting; and a job control step receiving a start instruction and executing the job in response to the start instruction, wherein the job setting step receives the job setting, which is made by use of the simplified job setting screen, from the portable information processing device, via the wireless communication circuitry after the portable information processing device falls within the communicable range or receives the job setting, which is made by use of the full job setting screen, from the operation unit; and the full job setting screen provides not only corresponding set items but also additional information on the item to the simplified job setting screen.
