Power adapter for electronic devices

A power adapter for powering portable electronic devices is disclosed. The modifications and enhancements to the power adapter can reduce or eliminate the need for adhesives, flexible circuitry, and/or wiring. The power adapter includes multiple guide rails used to guide a circuit board (carrying components) to electrical springs. The electrical springs provide not only an electrical coupling, but also a mechanical coupling. As a result, wiring and/or adhesives is not required. Additionally, a cap is secured to the enclosure through melting part of the cap by, for example, ultrasonic welding without causing damage to the circuit board, as welding location(s) is/are in locations away from the electrical springs and other sensitive components. The power adapter further includes a connector connected to the circuit board. During assembly, the circuit board can pivot in three dimensions during assembly to align the connector with the cap.

The communication circuitry is capable of switching network traffic of multiple link layer protocols. Additionally, the network switch includes one or more memory devices storing instructions that, when executed, cause the network switch to receive, with the communication circuitry through an optical connection, network traffic to be forwarded, and determine a link layer protocol of the received network traffic. The instructions additionally cause the network switch to forward the network traffic as a function of the determined link layer protocol. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

An integrated multilayer structure, includes a substrate film having a first side and an opposite second side. The substrate film includes electrically substantially insulating material, a circuit design including a number of electrically conductive areas of electrically conductive material on the first and/or second sides of the substrate film, and a connector including a number of electrically conductive contact elements. The connector is provided to the substrate film so that it extends to both the first and second sides of the substrate film and the number of electrically conductive contact elements connect to one or more of the conductive areas of the circuit design while being further configured to electrically couple to an external connecting element responsive to mating the external connecting element with the connector on the first or second side of or adjacent to the substrate film.

A connector assembly for connecting a first electrical component to a second electrical component includes a circuit board which is electrically conductively connectable to the first electrical component. A plug unit is electrically conductively couplable, at a plug end, to a mating plug unit and is disposed on a first side of the circuit board. A light source is disposed on a second side of the circuit board opposite the first side. A light guide has an in-coupling region and an out-coupling region, and a through-hole in which the plug end of the plug unit is at least partially disposed. The light guide also has a light injection opening in which the light source is at least partially disposed. The in-coupling region is disposed on a side wall of the light injection opening, and the out-coupling region surrounds the through-hole.

According to one embodiment, a vibration detecting device includes a housing, a vibration sensor, a circuit board, a flexible wiring member, and an elastic member. The vibration sensor is accommodated in the housing. The circuit board is accommodated in the housing, and is provided with a first electric component configured to process a detection signal of the vibration sensor. The wiring member electrically connects the vibration sensor and the circuit board to each other. The elastic member contains a polymer material, and is accommodated in the housing as being in contact with the housing and the circuit board, and being detachable from the housing. The circuit board is held by the housing through the elastic member.
