Photolithographic patterning of organic electronic devices

A method of making an OLED device includes providing a first undercut lift-off structure over the device substrate having a first array of bottom electrodes. Next, one or more first organic EL medium layers including at least a first light-emitting layer are deposited over the first undercut lift-off structure and over the first array of bottom electrodes. The first undercut lift-off structure and overlying first organic EL medium layer(s) are removed by treatment with a first lift-off agent comprising a fluorinated solvent to form a first intermediate structure. The process is repeated using a second undercut lift-off structure to deposit one or more second organic EL medium layers over a second array of bottom electrodes. After removal of the second undercut lift-off structure, a common top electrode is provided in electrical contact with the first and second organic EL medium layers.

Display panel, plasma etching method and system

Provided are a display panel, a plasma etching method and a system. After patterning a metal film layer on a substrate with a chlorine-containing gas, a post-treatment for suppressing corrosion is implemented by using plasma containing an oxygen-containing gas and a hydrogen-fluoride-containing gas. Thus, the surface of the metal film layer is an aluminum ion-containing crystal, which solves the technical problem of corrosion of the aluminum layer in the plasma etching technology of the prior art.

Hydrogen gas sensors based on nanoparticle-decorated, patterned carbon nanotube ropes

Nanoparticle(NP)-decorated carbon nanotube (CNT) ropes used as sensing elements for hydrogen gas (H.sub.2) chemiresistors are described herein. The NP-decorated CNT rope sensors were prepared by dielectrophoretic deposition of a single semiconducting CNT rope followed by the electrodeposition of metal nanoparticles to highly disperse said nanoparticles on the CNT surfaces. The rope sensors produced a relative resistance change 20-30 times larger than what was observed at single, pure Pd nanowires. Thus, the rope sensors improved upon all H.sub.2 sensing metrics (speed, dynamic range, and limit-of-detection) relative to single Pd nanowires.
