The internal support system comprises at least a first and a second channel disposed on the dorsal side of the glove, and a first strap and a second strap at least partially disposed within the first and second channels and configured in an overlapped and crossed configuration, wherein each of the first and the second strap is configured to be retained within and slide within the respective channel, and wherein ends of the first and second straps extend from a dorsal cavity between the inner glove and the outer shell to an exterior of the striking glove.

The method also includes reversing an orientation of the backhand assembly, filling each of the one or more compartments of the top skin with foam, and attaching the at least one remaining edge of each of the one or more compartments to the base.
