A secondary battery includes an electrode assembly, a battery case surrounding the electrode assembly, and a sealing member located between the electrode assembly and the battery case. The sealing member includes polymer particles that are configured to expand in all directions.

The present invention relates to a secondary battery which is capable of improving safety. As an example, a secondary battery which comprises an electrode assembly; a case which accommodates the electrode assembly; a cap assembly which is coupled to an upper portion of the case, and a gasket which is interposed between the cap assembly and the case, wherein the cap assembly comprises a cap-up, a safety vent which is installed at a lower portion of the cap-up, a cap-down which is installed at a lower portion of the safety vent, an insulator which is interposed between the safety vent and the cap-down, and a sub-plate which is located on a lower surface of the cap-down, and an insulation layer is formed on one surface of the safety vent, is disclosed.

The present disclosure discloses a cylindrical or button battery. The battery includes a cap, a shell and a ring seal, wherein the cap and the shell are both of a tubular structure having a cover portion and are fitted together to form a hermetic space for accommodating a battery cell; the ring seal is located between a side wall of the cap and a side wall of the shell and is capable of shrinking or being torn when reaching a set temperature so as to form a slit between the side wall of the cap and the side wall of the shell to release pressure. The ring seal of the battery can shrink or be torn at the set temperature to release pressure, and therefore the battery is characterized by excellent safety.

A rust inhibitor for a gasket, a gasket for a secondary battery including the same, and a secondary battery are provided. The rust inhibitor includes an anti-rust material and a polymer resin, wherein the polymer resin includes at least one of polyethylene or a copolymer which includes 2 or more derived units selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-derived unit, a propylene-derived unit, a butylene terephthalate-derived unit, an ethylene terephthalate-derived unit, and a methyl acrylate-derived unit.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a battery cell, a battery, a power consumption device, and a device and a method for manufacturing a battery cell. The battery cell may comprise an electrode assembly, a housing, an end cover, and a first insulation structure. The electrode assembly may comprise a first tab. The housing may accommodate the electrode assembly, the housing may have an opening, and a first limiting structure may be formed on an inner circumferential wall of the housing. The end cover may cover the opening, and in a thickness direction of the end cover, the first limiting structure may limit movement of the end cover in a direction towards the electrode assembly. The first insulation structure may be at least partially provided between the first tab and the first limiting structure, so as to insulate and isolate the first tab from the first limiting structure.

A button battery, a battery sealing structure, and a pre-assembly unit. The pre-assembly unit comprises a casing, a sealing ring, and a battery cover. The casing is provided with an accommodating cavity. The casing comprises an annular receiving member, and a limiting member protrudingly arranged on the receiving member, the receiving member is sleeved on an outer side of the accommodating cavity, and arranged at a port of the accommodating cavity, and the limiting member is in the shape of a ring and is arranged on an outer side of the accommodating cavity. The sealing ring comprises a first annular member arranged above the receiving member, and the battery cover is arranged above the first annular member. The limiting member is provided with a bendable portion arranged above the battery cover.

A cylindrical secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate and a second electrode plate; a can having a bottom part and a cylindrical side part, configured to accommodate the electrode assembly, and electrically connected to the first electrode plate; and a cap assembly. The cap assembly includes: a cap plate coupled to one end of the cylindrical side part and electrically connected to the cylindrical side part; and a rivet terminal insulated from the cap plate and electrically connected to the second electrode plate.

A cylindrical battery according to an exemplary embodiment comprises a bottomed cylindrical outer can, a sealing body that closes an opening in the outer can, and a gasket interposed between the outer can and the sealing body. On the outer can, an edge of the opening is curved inward, and a crimped part is formed pressing the sealing body via the gasket. The crimped part includes: a base-end-side part that is inclined so that the gap with the sealing body becomes smaller toward the inside of the outer can; and a tip-end-side part that is inclined at a smaller angle at the sealing-body side than the base-end-side part, or is parallel to the bottom surface part of the outer can, or is inclined so that the gap with the sealing body becomes larger toward the tip end.

A cylindrical battery according to an exemplary embodiment comprises a bottomed cylindrical outer can, a sealing body that closes an opening in the outer can, and a gasket interposed between the outer can and the sealing body. On the outer can, an edge of the opening is curved inward, and a crimped part is formed pressing the sealing body via the gasket. The crimped part includes: a base-end-side part that is inclined so that the gap with the sealing body becomes smaller toward the inside of the outer can; and a tip-end-side part that is inclined at a smaller angle at the sealing-body side than the base-end-side part, or is parallel to the bottom surface part of the outer can, or is inclined so that the gap with the sealing body becomes larger toward the tip end.

An electricity storage device includes: an electrode group including first and second electrodes; a case accommodating the electrode group therein, the case having an opening provided therein; and a sealing body covering the opening of the case. The case includes a tubular part, a curved part connected to one end of the tubular part, and a bottom part closing another end of the tubular part. The curved part includes an opening rim, a crimp part connected to the opening rim, and a groove part connected to the crimp part, the crimp part being located outward from the opening rim along a radial direction of the tubular part, the groove part being recessed to protrude inward in the radial direction of the tubular part and having an annular shape. The sealing body includes: a sealing plate having conductivity; and a gasket having electric insulation, the gasket being compressed between the sealing plate and a portion of the crimp part facing the groove part and between the sealing plate and an inner surface of the groove part. The case is electrically connected to the first electrode. The sealing plate is electrically connected to the second electrode. The opening rim does not contact the gasket.
