Methods and systems for a detecting an intruder near or within a vehicle are disclosed. Specifically, a method to detect and identify a person near or within a vehicle as an authorized or an unauthorized user is provided. In the event an unauthorized user is detected within a vehicle, the system may take a number of actions. In one embodiment, the actions comprise providing notice to one or more authorized users of the vehicle, disabling the vehicle, notifying emergency personnel or police, and emitting a visual or audio alarm.

A broadcast reception device includes: a program recording execution unit that stores, into a recording-content storage area, program identification information for identifying a broadcast program, and storage-destination information for specifying a server device storing the broadcast program; a reception function execution unit that transmits the program identification information and the program storage-destination information to the server device specified from the program storage-destination information; and an output unit that outputs sound information and image information on the broadcast program transmitted from the server device.

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, receiving a message transmitted from a web server application operating in a mobile device and inserting an identifier of a gateway device into the message to produce a modified message. The modified message includes a request to invoke a software application in the mobile device. The modified message is forwarded to a remote server to allow the server to establish communications with a media processor based on the identifier of the gateway device. The media processor invokes the software application in the mobile device based on an address supplied by the web server application allowing the mobile device to execute the software application and to establish media communication services with the media processor responsive to executing the software application. Methods and devices are provided to facilitate acquisition of information associated with a multimedia content through embedded watermarks. One such method includes obtaining a server code for embedding into a content. The server code identifies a particular domain name registered to a registrant entity and provides a mapping to an Internet address of a metadata server. Upon receiving an indication that a trigger event is associated with a particular segment of the content, a first watermark payload is formed and embedded in the content. The watermark payload includes the server code, an interval code and a first trigger value. The interval code identifies the particular content segment and the first trigger value indicates that additional information associated with the particular segment is. Detection of the first trigger value from a subsequently distributed content enables a query to the metadata server for acquisition of metadata.

System and methods related to video information distribution are provided. The system may obtain a video source address. The system may receive a video segment of a video stream from a remote server configured with the video source address. The system may parse the video segment for header information. The system may determine that a video corresponding to the video source address is playable on a remote device in response to the header information being included in the video segment. The system may store the video source address in a database. The database may include a plurality video addresses corresponding to respective videos that are playable on the remote device.
