Providing interactive video on demand
A server may generate interactive commerce programming with content including descriptive information about a product or a service. The interactive commerce programming may be provided to a producer client to present the content at a display of the producer client and to participant devices. The server may receive from a participant device a participant response. Additional descriptive information about the product and the service may also be provided to complete a commercial transaction.
LOGGING INDIVIDUALS FOR TV MEASUREMENT COMPLIANCE
A TV audience survey system for determining the TV viewing activities of a plurality of individuals in a household includes a master device and multiple tags, each tag assigned to an individual. After an individual logs into the system and starts watching the TV, the master device communicates with the corresponding tag repeatedly to accumulate data representing the individual's TV viewing activities. Such data can be used to determine when the individual stops watching the TV for an extended period of time without logging out of the system and when the household member remains watching the TV after logging or being logged out of the system. The master device then reports the accumulated data to a remote server, which uses the data to determine whether the individual complies with the logging protocol defined by the TV audience survey system and update the TV viewership data associated with this household.
Methods and systems for determining a reaction time for a response and synchronizing user interface(s) with content being rendered
Example methods and systems for computing a reaction time from an indexed event occurring in an indexed recording to a reaction signal are described. An example method includes receiving a sample of ambient content of a computing device, determining a position identification of the sample of ambient content into an indexed recording to which the sample of ambient content matches, based on the position identification, synchronizing display of content on a user interface of the computing device to the indexed recording, and computing the reaction time. The reaction signal is generated by the computing device and is indicative of a user's response to the indexed event.
GENERATION OF TASK RECORDS BASED ON CONTEXT OF TASK GENERATION REQUEST
In an embodiment, a data processing method comprises a first computer obtaining access to a digitally stored content item, the content item being stored with content item metadata identifying one or more of a creator of the content item, a title of the content item, description of the content item, content type of the content item, sharing settings of the content item, a taxonomy of the content item, or a category type of the taxonomy of the content item; receiving, at the first computer, a request to generate a task related to the content item; generating and storing a task record based, at least in part, on the content item metadata, the task record comprising an identifier of the task and the identifier of the content item; and causing display, on a second computer, a graphical representation of the task based, at least in part, on the task record.
Method of and system for managing client resources and assets for activities on computing devices
A method of and system for enabling a distributed entertainment system over a computing device is described herein. When implementing a distributed entertainment system wherein the entertainment system is directly correlated to live events or televised programs, there are a number of issues that must be addressed such as differing timing and channels of television programs and separate state laws. Furthermore, there are a plethora of varying computing device models possibly requiring model-specific software. An Activity Client is provided to handle such concerns. Furthermore, since time is of the essence for activities based on live or televised events, it is necessary to ensure a computing device is able to receive the necessary updates for the program before the event begins. By providing only the needed components instead of entire data packages, the present invention is able to much more efficiently prepare users' computing devices in time.
Template based system, device and method for providing interactive content
A method and system for providing television programming content and interactive data services is provided. In one embodiment, the interactive content is displayed on the television concurrently with television programming content and facilitates game play between viewers. The game may be scored for each viewer based on selection data from the viewer and event data that is determined by events occurring in the television programming content. In addition, the interactive content may present a message that conveys an incentive to the viewer to take some action such as actuating a button when a particular commercial is presented thereby allowing the service provider and advertisers to determine how many, and which, viewers watched a particular commercial. In addition, the interactive content (including the incentives) can be presented to viewers when the programming content is stored on a digital video recorder and subsequently presented thereby presenting incentives to viewers to watch commercials that were recorded as part of the television programming content.
REAL-TIME COACHING SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a real-time coaching system and method and, more particularly, to a real-time coaching system and method for coaching in real time by reflecting collective intelligence of a plurality of participants to a sports game. The real-time coaching system and method generate real-time coaching data regarding poll data and strategy/tactics to intervene or participate in a game according to a pre-determined rule, on the basis of information collected from a set-top box, a computer, and a smart phone, and provide the generated real-time coaching data to a scene of the game.
DISPLAY DEVICE
A display device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may comprise: a storage unit, a display unit, a network interface unit configured to communicate with a first server or a second server and a control unit configured to store voice data corresponding to a voice command uttered by a user in the storage unit, transmit the voice command to the first server, receive first analysis result information of the voice command from the first server, display a first result based on the received first analysis result information on the display unit, transmit the stored voice data to the second server if a user's feedback is received, receive a second analysis result information of a command from the second server, and display a second result based on the received second analysis result information on the display unit.
Media Content Based on Playback Zone Awareness
Systems and methods are provided for providing media content based on playback zone awareness. In one aspect, a computing system receives, via a network interface, zone data from the media playback system, wherein the zone data includes an indication of a particular zone of the media playback system, and wherein the particular zone comprises at least one playback device. The computing system identifies audio content based on (i) the indication of the particular zone and (ii) contextual data associated with the particular zone, and provides, via the network interface, an indication of the identified audio content to the media playback system.
Entertainment Server And Associated Social Networking Services
Certain exemplary embodiments relate to entertainment systems that interact with users so as to provide for social networking and/or other services. In certain exemplary embodiments, an entertainment system is configured to provide jukebox-related and entertainment system mediated services that are accessible from within and from the outside of the location, coordinating social networking services among and between patrons within and outside of the location and also providing for advertisement opportunities. In certain exemplary embodiments, the entertainment system within a location may serve as and/or be connected to a jukebox. The entertainment system within the location may be connected to one or more client devices, one or more displays, one or more bar-top or hand-held gaming devices, etc., in certain exemplary embodiments. The jukebox-related and entertainment system mediated services may provide mechanisms for enhancing patrons' experiences, creating a sense of ownership and/or belongingness to a connected community of entertainment system users.
