Method and apparatus for selecting carrier in mobile communication system
The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5.sup.th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4.sup.th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. A method for controlling a terminal in a base station of a mobile communication system, according to an embodiment of the present application, comprises the steps of: selecting at least one candidate terminal for offloading; obtaining information on a neighbor cell of at least one of the candidate terminals; obtaining throughput improvement information according to offloading on the basis of information on the candidate terminal and load information of the neighbor cell of the candidate terminal; obtaining information on a target cell corresponding to the candidate terminal on the basis of the throughput improvement information; selecting a target terminal to be offloaded from the candidate terminals on the basis of the throughput improvement information corresponding to the target cell; and transmitting, to the target terminal, a message instructing offloading to the target cell corresponding to the target terminal.
Adaptive MME selection method for an incoming UE
Systems and methods for MME adaptive selection are described. The method includes: initializing a health checkup algorithm at an eNodeB for each MME connected to as per configuration values; starting a health check timer for each MME; continuing with an Initial Attach procedure for incoming calls based on SAE-Temporary Mobile Subscriber Id (S-TMSI), (Globally Unique MME Identifier) GUMMEI, or capacity/load balancing considerations; on every UE attach attempt, incrementing a total calls count; and on every S1 AP Error Indication/no response from an ME, incrementing a total fail calls count; determining when the health check timer for an MME expires; calculating a failed calls/total calls percentage value. Based on the value of the timer, appropriate action is taken.

A method for controlling a connection procedure for a terminal device requesting a radio connection to a cell supported by network infrastructure equipment in a wireless telecommunication system, the method comprising: determining, at the terminal device, that a request to connect to the cell supported by the network infrastructure equipment is to be made, establishing, at the terminal device, application information relating to an operating context for the terminal device: transmitting a connection request message from the terminal device to the network infrastructure equipment, wherein the connection request message comprises a request for the terminal device to connect to the cell and an indication of the application information; and determining, at the network infrastructure equipment, whether to allow the request for the terminal device to connect to the cell based, at least in part, on the application information received by the network infrastructure equipment from the terminal device.

A communication device that operates as a base station includes a determination unit that determines a communication status in a BSS of the communication device, and a control unit that controls transmission and reception of a signal regarding connection change of a terminal according to the communication status to and from a surrounding base station. The determination unit determines the presence of a small number of terminals falling outside a distribution of implementation statuses of spatial reuse communication or multi user communication of entire subordinate terminals, and transmits a signal requesting the small number of terminals to be connected to the surrounding base station or transmits a signal inquiring of the surrounding base station acceptance of the small number of terminals.

The method includes: sending, by a first network node, a load request message to a second network node, where the load request message is used for indicating configuration information used by the second network node in reporting load information to the first network node; and receiving, by the first network node, the load information reported by the second network node according to the configuration information. The second network node and the first network node belong to different logical nodes in a network. The technical problem that load management cannot be performed when the second network node and the first network node belong to different logical nodes in related technology is solved, and the maximum performance of the network is fully exhibited.

Systems and methods enable the provisioning of security as a service for network slices. A network device stores definitions of multiple security assurance levels for network slices based on security parameters of assets used in the network slices. The network device stores multiple network slice templates, wherein the multiple network slice templates have different security assurance levels, of the multiple security assurance levels, for a Network Service Descriptor (NSD). The network device receives a request for a network slice with a requested security assurance level, of the multiple security assurance levels, for the NSD, and deploys the network slice using one of the network slice templates that has a security assurance level that corresponds to the requested security assurance level. The network device monitors the security parameters of the assets of the network slice for changes to the security assurance level of the deployed network slice.
