SYSTEMS, APPARATUSES, AND METHODS FOR ENDOSCOPY
A portable endoscopic system comprising an imaging unit for an endoscopic procedure. The imaging unit has an imaging coupler for receiving imaging information from an imaging assembly of an endoscope; a display integrated into a housing of the imaging unit; an image processing unit for processing the received imaging information into images of a time series and to displaying the image in real-time; a motion sensor configured to detect a motion of the housing; and a detection processing unit. The detection processing unit is configured to classify at least one anatomical feature in each image of the time series based on an artificial intelligence classifier; determine a confidence metric of the classification; determine a motion vector based on the detected motion; and display, concurrently with the corresponding image, the classification of the at least one anatomical feature, the determined confidence metric, and the determined motion vector.
Ear examination apparatus
An ear examination tool comprises a handle and a speculum mount coupled to the handle. The speculum mount is configured for retaining a disposable speculum. An spacing element is coupled to the handle and extends from the handle. A smartphone mount is coupled to the spacing element, and the spacing element is configured to maintain an optical separation distance between the speculum mount and the smartphone mount. The tool enables a clear view of the ear canal while allowing access by, and manipulation of, a microsuction tool being inserted into the ear canal. The extensive optical and data processing functionality of a “smartphone” can be integrated at low cost into an ear examination tool to provide a substantially improved piece of equipment for assisting in ear examination and microsuction of the ear.
Fully integrated, disposable tissue visualization device
The present invention relates to a fully integrated sterilizable one time use disposable tissue visualization device and methods for using such devices. Preferred embodiments of the invention facilitate the visualization of an internal tissue site while causing a minimum of damage to the surrounding tissue. Further preferred embodiments may allow for the delivery of fluids and other treatment to an internal tissue site.
Stylet assembly
A stylet assembly and method of forming an in vivo image acquiring stylet assembly. The stylet assembly includes an elongate flexible body and an image acquiring device that is supported at a location that is offset from an in vivo facing terminal end of the stylet assembly. A terminal end portion of the stylet assembly is defined by a manipulator that is oriented to extend in a crossing direction relative to a longitudinal axis of the elongate body. The terminal end portion of the stylet assembly is steerable relative to the elongate body and is operable to manipulate positions or adjacent anatomy and/or effectuate guidance of the imaging device relative thereto during use.
Multimodal endoscope and methods of use
An endoscope may include a needle and a scope, which may optionally be contained in an elongated shaft. The endoscope may further include a handle comprising at least one button, a visualization component, a reservoir configured to contain a composition, and a dispensing mechanism. The at least one button, the needle, the reservoir, and the dispensing mechanism may be operably linked to cause the composition to be dispensed from the reservoir through the needle to a portion of an ear. A method for using such an endoscope may include inserting the endoscope into a portion of an ear, using the visualization component to visualize the portion of the ear, and pressing the at least one button to dispense the composition from the reservoir through the needle to the portion of the ear.
Turn fixing mechanism portion of endoscope apparatus and endoscope apparatus
A turn fixing mechanism portion of an endoscope apparatus includes: a turning portion connected to a turning unit turnably disposed; a fixed portion configured to turnably support the turning portion; an elastic member interposed between the turning portion and the fixed portion; and a holding member configured to fix a turned position of the turning unit by pressing the turning portion toward a side of the fixed portion to compress the elastic member in a turning axis direction to generate a predetermined frictional force.
Endoscopic devices and related methods
An endoscopic device includes a single-use cannula configured for insertion through a cervix into a uterus, a camera secured to a distal end region of the single-use cannula for acquiring images of the uterus, a connection hub secured to a proximal end region of the cannula, a reusable display configured to present the images acquired by the camera and that is securable to the connection hub, and a handle secured to the connection hub. The handle is pivotable between a first position in which the handle is stowed along the connection hub and arranged to prevent attachment of the reusable display to the connection hub and a second position in which the handle is deployed to an orientation that is antiparallel to the connection hub and arranged to permit attachment of the reusable display to the connection hub.
Intubation apparatus
An intubation apparatus includes an inserting section that has an elongated shape and is to be inserted from a mouth of a subject toward a target site. An intubation tube is formed to extend along a longitudinal direction of the inserting section and is advanceable and retractable with respect to the inserting section. An imaging section is placed at a tip end of the inserting section and takes an in vivo image of the body of the subject. A detecting section detects a target site from the in vivo image based on a feature amount of the target site that is preset. A notifying section is disposed integrally with or separately from the intubation apparatus and notifies an operator who operates the inserting section. A notification controller controls the notifying section to notify of information relating to the target site of the subject based on a result of the detection.
ENDOSCOPE
There is provided an endoscope for use in intubation. The endoscope comprises a housing, a display device having a display screen, and an operative member extending from the housing, the operative member being configured to be inserted into a patients airway and to transmit images to the display screen. The housing comprises an actuator coupled to the operative member and a retainer coupled to the display screen, the housing having a handle portion comprising at least the actuator, and the actuator being single-handedly rotatable by a user relative to the retainer, such that the operative member is rotatable relative to the display screen.
UTERINE CERVICAL IMAGE ACQUISITION APPARATUS
The present invention relates to a uterine cervical image acquisition apparatus which acquires and displays images of a uterine cervix, and in some cases can automatically diagnose the onset of a disease related to the uterine cervix, the apparatus being characterized by comprising: a main body in which a camera for acquiring uterine cervical images is installed on one side, a user interface for displaying the uterine cervical images and inputting user touch commands is installed on the opposite side, and a handlebar unit is formed in a downward direction; a light source unit which emits light toward the front of the main body; a battery which is positioned inside the handlebar unit to supply power for charging and operation; an operation button unit which includes at least an image capturing button, a zoom-in button, and a zoom-out button formed on the handlebar unit; a memory for storing the captured uterine cervical images; a communication unit for transmitting the uterine cervical images to a reading computer; an image transmission control unit for controlling to store the captured uterine cervical images in the memory, encrypt selected uterine cervical images, and transmit the encrypted images to the reading computer; a display screen control unit which controls to display, on the left and right or above and below the captured uterine cervical display images, a menu bar for receiving the user touch commands; and a camera control unit which controls zooming and auto-focusing of the camera and the brightness of the light source unit according to operations of the provided button.
