ASSESSING PATIENT OUT-OF-BED AND OUT-OF-CHAIR ACTIVITIES USING EMBEDDED INFRARED THERMAL CAMERAS
A patient monitoring system. The patient monitoring system comprises a camera and a processing unit in communication with the camera. The processing unit is configured to determine a safe zone around the patient based at least in part on an analysis of one or more initial images received from the camera. The processing unit is further configured to determine whether the patient has exited the safe zone based at least in part on an analysis of one or more subsequent images received from the camera. The processing unit is also configured to trigger an alarm in response to determining that the patient has exited the safe zone.
Bed-leaving sensor and bed-leaving detection method
A bed-leaving sensor for detecting bed-leaving by a user on a bed, including: a sitting position detection member that detects a sitting position of the user based on a detection value of a pressure sensor arranged on the bed; and a bed-leaving behavior detection member that detects bed-leaving behavior of the user with at least one of the following as a condition: (i) the sitting position being detected within a preset bed-leaving expectation region, (ii) a movement volume of a sitting position center of gravity which is a center of gravity of the sitting position exceeding a given threshold value within a given time, and (iii) the sitting position center of gravity moving toward a preset bed-leaving range.
Bed-leaving sensor and bed-leaving detection method
A bed-leaving sensor for detecting bed-leaving by a user on a bed, including: a sitting position detection member that detects a sitting position of the user based on a detection value of a pressure sensor arranged on the bed; a foot movement detection member for detecting foot movement of the user based on the detection value of the pressure sensor; and a bed-leaving behavior detection member that detects bed-leaving behavior of the user with the sitting position or the foot movement being detected within a preset bed-leaving expectation region as a condition.
EMERGENCY CALL APPARATUS, EMERGENCY CALL SYSTEM AND BACKUP METHOD THEREOF
An emergency call apparatus, an emergency call system and a backup method thereof are provided. The emergency call system includes a bedside station, a managing server and at least one target device. In the method, the bedside station detects a triggering signal of an emergency call and then detects a network connection with the managing server. In response to detecting the network connection is connected, the bedside station transmits a request of the emergency call to the managing server and establishes an emergency call connection with the at least one target device according to connection information of the at least one target device stored in the managing server. In response to detecting the network connection is disconnected, the bedside station establishes the emergency call connection with the target device according to a backup of the connection information of the target device stored in the bedside station.
Watching system, watching method, and recording medium
A watching system, which calculates a fall probability of an imaged person to be fallen using a computer which includes a processor and a memory, includes a trunk extraction unit that receives time-series skeleton information of the imaged person, calculates an angle between a head and a waist of the imaged person based on the skeleton information, extracts the angle as a trunk of the imaged person, calculates the center of the trunk as a trunk center based on trunk information set in advance, extracts a trunk to be reference as a reference trunk from a time-series trunk calculated from the time-series skeleton information, and holds a center of the reference trunk, and a fall probability calculation unit that calculates a distance between a trunk center of the reference trunk and a trunk center of the trunk as a deviation amount, and calculates the fall probability from the deviation amount.
System for tandem bed communication
This disclosure concerns a communication system adapted to communicate between a handheld remote control and a first adjustable bed controller of a first adjustable bed facility, and a second communication system adapted to communicate between the first adjustable bed controller of the first adjustable bed facility and a second adjustable bed controller of a second adjustable bed facility.
Sequential compression therapy compliance monitoring systems and methods
A system includes a sequential compression device (SCD) used by a patient as part of a sequential compression therapy (SCT) protocol. The system also includes a computer device that determines whether the SCD is in use in substantially real time in compliance with the protocol. The computer device initiates a notification to a caregiver if noncompliance with the SCT protocol is detected.
Bed device
A bed device includes: an operation section that receives an operation input; a controller that controls a movement of the bed in accordance with the operation input; a detector that detects a position of a patient on the bed; and, a limitation table that stores a limitation area set on the bed in association with a limitation content, wherein when the position of the patient detected by the detector is included in the limitation area, the limitation content is read out from the limitation table so as to control the controller in accordance with the limitation content. With this configuration, it is possible to provide a higher safety bed device which can not only notify the danger based on the bed movement but also limit the movement of the bed in accordance with the status of the patient or the bed device.
COMPUTER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING A POSTURE ADOPTED BY A SUBJECT
A computer system for identifying a posture adopted by a subject is disclosed. The computer system includes a computer processor that is configured to execute the following functions: obtain a set of reference pressure images, each of the reference pressure images associated with a known posture; obtain a recorded pressure image of the subject; compare the recorded pressure image of the subject with a candidate pressure image from the set of reference pressure images; and repeat the comparing function until the recorded pressure image with the candidate pressure image.
PATIENT MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD
The invention provides a patient monitoring system for monitoring a patient in a bed. A video camera is used for capturing video images of the patient. Video analysis is used to determine and track the position of body parts of the patient including the hands. This analysis is enhanced by using sensors which detect interaction by the patient with pieces of equipment in the vicinity of the bed.
