Devices, systems, and methods for inducing dermal blood vessel leakage
The present disclosure relates generally to devices, systems, and methods for diagnosis and treatment via laser-treated skin and, more particularly, to devices, systems, and methods for inducing leakage or rupture of one or more blood vessels comprising the dermis for various diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Other aspects of the present disclosure can include methods for detecting one or more target analytes in a dermis of a subject, methods for facilitating skin-to-blood delivery of agent in a subject, and methods for collecting a fluid sample from the dermis of a subject.
PUSH- OR TWIST- INITIATED BLOOD METERING, FILTERING AND/OR STORAGE
A device uses twist- or push-initiated force to collect, meter, filter and store a blood sample.
Accelerated ergonomic collection of capillary blood
Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for accelerated ergonomic collection of capillary blood. An apparatus and system include a blood collection module with a proximal portion including a vacuum generation chamber, a distal portion including a blood collection chamber, a concave mid portion including a pressure equalization channel configured to equalize reduced air pressure. The apparatus further includes a sealing surface to stably seal the blood collection module to the skin around a collection site and a slide latch actuated by a lengthwise sliding motion. Also included is a lancet carrier with linearly-arranged lancet strips to puncture rows of blood extraction slits in the collection site. The apparatus also includes an angled transfer port with a low-resistance non-microfluidic blood flow channel to a transfer module, then to a plasma separation module with a multilayer laminate and plasma separation membrane. Methods for accelerated ergonomic collection of capillary blood are disclosed.
APPARATUS FOR ELICITING A BLOOD SAMPLE
An apparatus for eliciting a blood sample comprises a housing, an aperture in a wall of the housing, an aperture cover moveable between a first position in which the aperture is covered and a second position in which the aperture is uncovered, the aperture cover comprising a sealing member configured to seal the aperture on a first side of the wall when the aperture cover is in the first position and a user-contactable part extending from the sealing member through the aperture to the second side of the wall and configured to allow a user to move the aperture cover between the first and second positions.

Methods, devices, systems, and kits for automated blood collection by fingerstick
Methods, devices, systems and kits for obtaining blood samples are provided. Devices include a cuff, a pressure source, and a timing mechanism. The methods include placing a cuff on a digit of a subject, inflating the cuff, and obtaining a small volume blood sample. The methods further include warming a digit lancing a digit pulsing the cuff; and providing a signal indicating the end of the sample collection time period.
SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS TO FACILITATE DRAWING BLOOD AND EXTRACTING OTHER BODILY FLUIDS
A system, method and apparatus are provided for facilitating the extraction of bodily fluids, including blood, in a medical setting. The disclosed apparatus is configured as a single unit integral apparatus composed of two opposing and interconnected flexible clip components. A proximal end of a unitary apparatus includes two opposing flexible clip components configured to flexibly yet firmly engage a thumb or finger of the medical professional undertaking the blood draw in a manner that secures the apparatus to the thumb or finger of the medical professional during the blood draw evolution. A distal end of the unitary apparatus includes two opposing flexible clip components configured to flexibly yet firmly engage a blood tube holder of a typical standard diameter to securely hold the blood tube holder in place in proximity to the thumb or finger of the medical professional during the blood draw evolution.
Compact Fluid Analysis Device and Method to Fabricate
The present disclosure relates to a fluid analyzing device that includes a sensing device for analyzing a fluid sample. The sensing device includes a microchip configured for sensing the fluid sample, and a closed micro-fluidic component for propagating the fluid sample to the microchip. The fluid sample can be provided to the micro-fluidic component via an inlet of the fluid analyzing device. And a vacuum compartment, which is air-tight connected to the sensing device, can create in the micro-fluidic component a suction force suitable for propagating the fluid sample through the micro-fluidic component.
Bodily fluid-component analyzing apparatus
An integrated bodily-fluid-component analyzing apparatus includes a main body, a lancet holder connected to the main body so as to be movable back and forth along a predetermined movement path, a lancet removably attached to the lancet holder, and a test strip that is removably attached to the main body and is used to measure a component of the bodily fluid flowing from a pricked site of the living body pricked with the lancet. The movement path of the lancet holder and a bodily fluid inlet of the test strip face a specific position that is in a vicinity of the main body and at which the pricked site is to be placed. The apparatus further includes a pressing section that presses a portion of the living body adjacent to the pricked site so as to cause the bodily fluid to flow from the pricked site.
Biosensor, cartridge storing biosensor, measurement device using biosensor
There are provided a biosensor, and a measurement device in which the biosensor is used, with which accurate puncture is enabled and reliability of measurement results are improved. The biosensor comprises an element substrate, a detector, a connection terminal, a continuity path, and a cutout. The detector is provided over the element substrate, and receives a specimen and detects a specific component contained in the specimen. The connection terminal is provided over the element substrate and acquires current corresponding to the specific component. The continuity path connects the connection terminal and the detector. The cutout is formed along the outer periphery of the detector so as to surround two or more directions of the detector.
