11369296 · 2022-06-28 ·

A medical needle holder (10) having a generally hollow body (18) which extends in the direction of an axis (62) from a first end (20) to a second end (22). The first end is shaped for reception of a needle (50) therein and the second end is open to allow for insertion of a fluid receptacle (16). The first axis is substantially aligned in use with a needle positioned in the first end of the body. The needle holder comprises a grip portion (28) which extends outwardly from the body in a direction which is angularly offset from the first axis. The grip portion may be actuable between an in-use condition and a disposal condition in which the grip portion covers a needle in the needle holder. The body (18) may comprise control formations on its inner surface to allow for control over the insertion of a fluid receptacle (16) into the body.

PUSH-TYPE SAFETY PROTECTION MECHANISM OF BLOOD COLLECTION NEEDLE

The present invention discloses a push-type safety protection mechanism of a blood collection needle. The push-type safety protection mechanism comprises a sleeve member and a valve core member, wherein the valve core member is provided with three parts, namely a needle seat part, a sleeving part and a stopping part; a plurality of limiting grooves is formed in the stopping part; the sleeve member is provided with two parts, namely a first sleeve part positioned at a front section and a second sleeve part positioned at a rear section; an elastic button higher than the side wall of the first sleeve part is arranged on the side wall of the valve core member; a limiting opening matched with the elastic button is formed in the side wall of the first sleeve part; a limiting sliding cavity for accommodating the elastic button and the valve core member is formed from a position of the first sleeve part from the limiting opening to the inner side of the second sleeve part, and the limiting sliding cavity guides and limits front-back movements of the elastic button and the valve core member; and a plurality of elastic limiting protrusions matched with the limiting grooves is arranged on the inner wall of the tail sliding cavity of the second sleeve part. Through the design of the elastic button, medical staff can operate the blood collection needle with the left hand or the right hand alone during use.

FLUID DIVERSION MECHANISM FOR BODILY-FLUID SAMPLING

An apparatus includes a housing, a flow control mechanism, and an actuator. At least a portion of the flow control mechanism is movably disposed within the housing. The apparatus further includes an inlet port and an outlet port, and defines a fluid reservoir. The outlet port is fluidically coupled to a second fluid reservoir and is fluidically isolated from the first fluid reservoir. The actuator is configured to move the flow control mechanism between a first configuration, in which the inlet port is placed in fluid communication with the fluid reservoir such that the fluid reservoir receives a first flow of bodily-fluid, and a second configuration, in which the inlet port is placed in fluid communication with the outlet port.

Systems and methods for phlebotomy through a peripheral IV catheter

An apparatus includes a catheter, an introducer having a first member and a second member, a locking mechanism coupled to a distal end of the first member and configured to couple the introducer to a peripheral intravenous line, and an actuator coupled to the catheter. The actuator is configured to move from a first configuration, in which the catheter is disposed within the introducer, toward a second configuration to move the second member to a distal position relative to the first member. A portion of a guide of the second member being distal to the first member when the second member is in the distal position. The actuator is configured to move relative to the second member to be placed in the second configuration when the second member is in its distal position such that the catheter is disposed within and extending past an end of the peripheral intravenous line.
