Electrical connector

An electrical connector includes: a conductive terminal including: a connector-side connecting part; a substrate-side connecting part; and an L-shaped bent part therebetween; a housing including: a terminal-holding hole holding the conductive terminal between the connector-side connecting part and the bent part; and an opening capable of exposing the substrate-side connecting part. The opening is used for connecting a circuit substrate. An alignment member is attached toward the substrate-side connecting part of the conductive terminal so as to close the opening. The alignment member is engaged with the housing in a state where the substrate-side connecting part projects from a through hole for inserting the conductive terminal therein. The engaging unit preventing the substrate-side connecting part of the conductive terminal from moving to the bent part, is provided between the conductive terminal and the through hole.

A connector has a fixing hole in an intermediate portion of a terminal member, and has an engagement portion projecting downward in a thickness direction, at an end portion at a front end side of the fixing hole. Therefore, when the terminal member is attached to a housing, movement of the terminal member toward a rear end side can be restricted by fitting a projection portion of the housing into the fixing hole. Furthermore, since the engagement portion is provided to the terminal member, movement of the terminal member toward the rear end side can be restricted by engaging the engagement portion with a front end surface of a protrusion portion of the housing.

A board terminal includes a metal wire material with a first end and a second end, the metal wire material including: a middle part that is between the first end and the second end, a connecting part that is at the first end and that is configured to be connected to a mating member, and a conductive part that is at the second end and that is configured to be inserted through a through-hole of a printed circuit board and is made to be conductive with an electrically conductive path, wherein: a first side edge of the connecting part is cut away from the first end toward the middle part for a specified length between the first end and the second end, and a width of the connecting part is narrower than the middle part, and a pressing part is formed by a step surface that is between the connecting part and the middle part.

Modular jack connector and terminal module

A modular jack connector includes a housing defining a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. A plurality of terminals are disposed in the housing. Each terminal having a body portion and a contact end portion connected to the body portion. Each contact end has a contact surface facing the first direction for connecting to a counterpart connector. The contact surface is a rolled surface of a metal sheet from which the contact terminals are formed. Plating process becomes more efficient and plating quality is improved, resulting in terminals with high contact surface quality being made for better electrical connectivity when connected to counterpart connectors.
