An apparatus comprising at least one sensor to detect the position and/or orientation of a body portion of a subject, the sensor in communication with a computing device to process sensor data and optionally a transmitter to transmit sensor data between the sensor and the computing device and/or one or more computing devices.

Motion sensing necklace system

A motion sensing necklace comprising includes a pendant attached to lower ends of two lanyards. The pendant includes a help button for a user to generate a signal for help, and a battery to power the motion sensing necklace. A neck strap is attached to upper ends of the first and second lanyards. Two motion sensors are located within opposing ends of the neck strap. A microprocessor located within the neck strap processes signals from the motion sensors to determine whether motion has occurred. A transmitter or transceiver located within the neck strap transmits motion detection signals and alerts generated by the microprocessor.

BIOLOGICAL INFORMATION ANALYSIS DEVICE, BIOLOGICAL INFORMATION ANALYSIS METHOD, AND BIOLOGICAL INFORMATION ANALYSIS SYSTEM

The purpose of the present invention is to obtain a biological information analysis device, a biological information analysis method, and a biological information analysis system that enable more accurate determination of a swallowing motion. In order to attain the purpose, this biological information analysis device has: a swallowing motion assessment unit which assesses a user's motion by analyzing distance information and sound information that are obtained by measuring the motion and sound of the pharynx region; and a display unit, wherein the swallowing motion assessment unit is configured to output a first swallowing motion position that is assessed by analyzing the distance information and a second swallowing motion position that is assessed by analyzing the sound information, and the display unit is configured to display the distance information, the sound information, and the first swallowing motion position and the second swallowing motion position outputted by the swallowing motion assessment unit.

Head Mounted Microphone Array for Tinnitus Diagnosis
20170303887 · 2017-10-26 ·

A three-dimensional, head mounted microphone array is employed to isolate and analyze intracranial sound sources such as may provide for objective tinnitus. The microphone array allows a region of interest within the patient's head to be isolated for the detection of sounds and allows episodic sounds to be automatically identified as to location. An interactive display allows a better understanding of sound locations and the extracted sounds can be analyzed with respect to a library of sounds linked to particular locations and diagnoses.

ACTIVATION BY TEMPERATURE SENSOR

A sleep posture alerting method is provided, wherein the sleep posture of a person is detected. The person is automatically alerted by a stimulus generated by an alerting device when the sleep posture is out of a predetermined body posture range. A stimulus variation is effected by the alerting device.

Radiolucent electrode or sensor assembly
09795316 · 2017-10-24 ·

A lightweight, disposable and substantially radiolucent electrode or sensor assembly for that universally connects to separate, non-integrated electrodes or sensors for the monitoring of the physiological parameters of a live subject wherein the electrode assembly is comprised of one or more radiolucent electrical connectors for connecting the electrode assembly to the sensors. The present invention also discloses a method of positioning the electrode assembly on a patient whose physiological signs are being monitored such that access to the patient's chest is substantially unimpeded so as not to obstruct the electromagnetic imaging of the patient's chest, the application of defibrillation paddles or surgical procedures that require access to the chest area.

BIOLOGICAL SIGNAL MEASUREMENT SYSTEM

A biological signal measurement system includes: a biological signal measurer that measures a biological signal including external noise of biological noise and of environmental noise; biological noise measurer that measures a signal including the biological noise; a biological noise estimator that estimates the biological noise from the signal measured by the biological noise measurer; an environmental noise measurer that measures a signal including the environmental noise; an environmental noise estimator that estimates the environmental noise from the signal measured by the environmental noise measurer; and a calculator that calculates the biological signal in consideration of an effect of the external noise using the signal measured by the biological signal measurer, the biological noise estimated by the biological noise estimator and the environmental noise estimated by the environmental noise estimator.

Systems, articles, and methods for stretchable printed circuit boards
09788789 · 2017-10-17 · ·

Improved stretchable printed circuit boards, and fabrication methods thereof, are described. The improved stretchable printed circuit boards include a serpentine conductive trace enclosed by stretchable dielectric material. The stretchable dielectric material has a serpentine shape itself, realized by crenulated edges. The crenulated edges reduce torsional strain on the conductive trace and are formed, for example, by cutting away sections of the stretchable dielectric material proximate segments of the serpentine conductive trace where the serpentine conductive trace changes direction.

Opticoustic sensor
09782110 · 2017-10-10 · ·

A physiological sensor has an optic assembly, an acoustic assembly and an attachment assembly. The optic assembly has an optic transducer that is activated so as to transmit a plurality of wavelengths of light into a tissue site and to detect the light after attenuation by pulsatile blood flow within the tissue site. The acoustic assembly has an acoustic transducer activated so as to respond to vibrations at the surface of the tissue site. The attachment assembly affixes the optic assembly and acoustic assembly to the tissue site, such as along one side of a person's neck or the forehead. A sensor cable extends from the attachment assembly so as to transmit an optic transducer signal and an acoustic transducer signal to a monitor for calculation of physiological parameters.
