Photoplethysmogram (PPG) sensing module and device including the same
Provided is a photoplethysmogram (PPG) sensing module including one or more light sources that emit light to a user; a plurality of optical sensors that receive reflected light from the user and generate sensing signals, each of the sensing signals being generated by one of the optical sensors; a read-out signal generating circuit that receives the sensing signals from the optical sensors and generate read-out signals by performing an analog-to-digital conversion on the sensing signals; and a signal processing circuit that receives the read-out signals, classifies the read-out signals according to one or more movement patterns of the user, measures a movement component of the user based on the classified read-out signals, and generates a PPG signal in which the movement component is removed.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AUTOMATED WIDEFIELD OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY ANGIOGRAPHY
Disclosed are systems and methods for generating wide-field optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) images. In embodiments, multiple OCTA scans of a sample are automatically acquired at overlapping locations. The systems and methods include functionality to adaptively control the scanning procedure such that eye blink and eye motion events are detected in real time and accounted for during 3D scan acquisition. Also disclosed are methods for detecting and correcting motion-related artifacts in OCTA datasets which allow for the longer scan times over larger fields of view required for wide-field imaging. These methods may include division of en face angiogram images into a set of motion-free parallel strips, and application of gross and fine registration methods to align overlapping strips into a motion- corrected composite image. A series of overlapping motion-corrected composite images may be combined into a larger montage to enable wide-field OCTA imaging using multiple OCTA scans.
PULSE RATE ESTIMATION METHOD, DEVICE, AND SYSTEM
Provided is a method for estimating a pulse rate with high accuracy in the case that short-term burst noise is mixed in an estimation interval. Included are a pulse wave signal generating step of generating a pulse wave signal from an image of a pulse rate estimation target; a peak component suppression step of limiting an amplitude value of the pulse wave signal that is larger than a first threshold value to the first threshold value, and outputting a pulse wave analysis signal; and a frequency analysis step of outputting a frequency spectrum of the pulse wave analysis signal.
Wearable monitoring devices with passive and active filtering
A wearable device includes a housing with a window and an electronic module supported by the housing. The electronic module includes a photoplethysmography sensor, a motion sensor, and a signal processor that processes signals from the motion sensor and signals from the photoplethysmography sensor. The signal processor is configured to remove frequency bands from the photoplethysmography sensor signals that are outside of a range of interest using a band-pass filter to produce pre-conditioned signals, and to further process the pre-conditioned signals using the motion sensor signals to reduce motion artifacts from footsteps during subject running. The device includes non-air light transmissive material in optical communication with the photoplethysmography sensor and the window that serves as a light guide for the photoplethysmography sensor. The window optically exposes the photoplethysmography sensor to a body of a subject wearing the device via the non-air light transmissive material.
Balloon catheter with diagnostic electrodes, far field electrodes, and guidewire
A medical apparatus includes a shaft, an expandable frame, a membrane, a diagnostic electrode, a reference electrode, and a processor. The shaft is configured for insertion into an organ of a patient. The expandable frame is coupled to a distal end of the shaft. The diagnostic electrode, which is disposed on an external surface of the expandable frame, is configured to sense diagnostic signals when in contact with tissue. The reference electrode is disposed on a surface of the expandable frame directly opposite the diagnostic electrode, wherein the reference electrode is electrically insulated from the tissue and is configured to sense interfering signals.
Devices and methods for speckle motion artifact detection and compensation in medical imaging
A device for providing reference information in laser speckle medical imaging of tissue of a subject can include a support that includes a marker for image recognition and a speckle target region that is nontransparent to light in a first illumination wavelength range and that generates a speckle pattern when illuminated with light in the first wavelength range. The support can be configured to be attachable to tissue of the subject.
Methods and Systems for Tremor Reduction
A tremor-reduction system is provided that delivers electric current to a body region of a subject that is associated with a tremor. A computing device stores received data associated with a tremulous movement of the body region and determines measurements associated with the stored data. If a magnitude of the most recent tremulous movement is the same as or greater than magnitudes associated with prior tremulous movements, characteristics of a subsequent electric current to be applied to the body region may be adjusted.
PRESSURE SENSOR ARRANGEMENT AND METHOD
The invention relates to a pressure sensor (100) comprising: a biocompatible housing (110), a biocompatible flexible membrane (120) covering an open portion in the housing (110), a pressure transferring medium, an attachment portion (130), an electrical connection (140), and a pressure sensitive sensor (150).
INFORMATION PROCESSOR AND INFORMATION PROCESSING PROGRAM
An information processor according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes an acquisition section and a generation section. The acquisition section acquires external sweat amount data, on an amount of sweat oozing out of an epidermis, generated on a basis of an output of a first sensor section, and internal sweat amount data, on an amount of sweat inside the epidermis and a dermis, generated on a basis of an output of a second sensor section. The generation section generates sweat amount data on a basis of the external sweat amount data and the internal sweat amount data.
Device and method suitable for monitoring arterial blood in a body part
A device comprising a piece of planar substrate embedded with two sensors and two emitters. The substrate has a generally planar surface for application onto the wearer's body part. The emitters and sensors are shown to be arranged in such a way that no subset of any two emitters and one sensor, or subset of any two emitters and one sensor, forms a straight line, which prevents the two sensors from detecting the same noise caused by the same wearer movements.
