An image processing apparatus, which has an input unit configured to input image data and which is communicably connected to an external apparatus via a network, includes an obtaining unit configured to obtain a document with a predetermined form that includes a request for input of image data, via the network from the external apparatus; a display unit configured to display, in the event of displaying a screen corresponding to the document obtained by the obtaining unit, a screen including a display object based on the predetermined form, the display object to instruct inputting of image data by the input unit; a determining unit configured to determine whether or not to display the display object on the display unit; and a control unit configured to control the display of the display object by the display unit, according to determination results of the determining unit.

A display processing device includes a controller and a display section having a display surface. The controller causes one or more first objects to be displayed on the display surface. Upon one of the first objects being selected, the controller creates a first screen including one or more second objects, which are objects located in a level one level lower than that of the selected first object in a hierarchy. The controller acquires a third object, which is an object located in a level lower than that of the selected first object in the hierarchy, by reference to a specific condition. The controller creates a second screen including one or more fourth objects, which are objects located in a level one level lower than that of the third object in the hierarchy. The controller causes the first and second screens to be simultaneously displayed on the display surface.

An information processing apparatus having a printer driver includes a display part that displays on a screen a first image, a second image, a first setting item that relates to the first image and a second setting item that relates to the second image, a control part that determines one of the first and second images as a main image and the other of them as a sub image, displays both of the main and sub images on the screen, and receives a selection made by a user of the apparatus, and a display switching part that displays the first image as the main image relating to the first setting item when the first setting item is selected by the user, and the second image as the sub image.

A composite apparatus includes: a first apparatus and a second apparatus that operate independently; and a console display that is shared by the first and second apparatus. The first and second apparatus each includes: a display memory that stores display data; and a drawing processor that instructs the console display to display the display data. The composite apparatus further includes: a selector that selectively connects the drawing processor of the first or second apparatus to the console display; and a switch processor that receives a connection request from the first or second apparatus. The connection request includes requests to connect the drawing processor of the first or second apparatus to the console display and to instruct the selector to connect the drawing processor of either the first or second apparatus to the console display.

A control method for an information processing apparatus, the control method comprising: receiving, from a first external apparatus which belongs to a different subnet of a network than the subnet of the information processing apparatus, specific information for discovering the first external apparatus using a first communication unit; accepting an instruction from a user for searching for external apparatuses; discovering, in response to accepting the instruction and receiving the specific information before accepting the instruction, one or a plurality of external apparatuses by using the specific information, wherein the discovered external apparatuses includes the first external apparatus; displaying a list of information related to the discovered external apparatus(es); and communicating, using a second communication unit, with a selected external apparatus that a user has selected from the list.

A software widget running on a user device may be designed to operate in a locked or an unlocked mode. In unlocked mode, the user has full interactivity with the widget. In locked mode, however, at least some of the interactivity with the widget is restricted, despite the fact that the widget still operates normally otherwise while in the locked mode.
