Intramedullary nails, systems, and methods. The intramedullary nail may include a generally elongate body extending from a first, distal end to a second, proximal end. The distal end may include one or more openings configured to receive one or more bone anchors that extend transversely through the distal end intramedullary nail, and thereby configured to secure the distal end of the nail. The proximal end may also include one or more openings configured to receive one or more bone anchors that extend transversely through the proximal end of the intramedullary nail, and thereby configured to secure the proximal end of the nail. In some embodiments, the proximal end may further include a cross-locking feature, which includes a second bone anchor that interlocks with a first bone anchor, for example, for enhanced bone purchase and bony fixation.

COUNTER-TORQUE IMPLANT

A bone plate system may include a bone plate having a bone-facing side, an obverse side displaced from the bone-facing side by a thickness of the bone plate, a first end, and second end displaced from the first end along a longitudinal length of the bone plate. The bone plate may have a first fastener hole extending through the bone plate between the bone-facing side and the obverse side, a second fastener hole extending through the bone plate between the bone-facing side and the obverse side, and a plug extending outwardly from the bone-facing side. The plug may have a cross-sectional shape, perpendicular to the thickness, that is elongated along the longitudinal length.

Intramedullary implant and method of use

A bone implant includes a proximal end, a distal end, a first portion extending between the proximal and distal ends having a maximum and minimum portion height, and a second portion extending between the proximal and distal ends having a maximum and minimum portion height. The second portion is connected to the first portion at the proximal end and the distal end and at least one of the first portion and the second portion is moveable relative to the other of the first portion and the second portion so as to transition the bone implant between a relaxed state wherein the first and second portions are separated by a first distance and a contracted state wherein the first and second portions are separated by a second distance different from the first distance. At least one of the proximal end and the distal end have the minimum portion height.

Intramedullary nails can be used for the treatment of a bone fracture. In some embodiments, such intramedullary nails can include an elongate shaft having a longitudinal axis, a distal nail component, and a proximal nail component. In some embodiments, the intramedullary nails include a first rotatable shaft and a second rotatable shaft. In some embodiments, the intramedullary nails include a handle coupled to the first and second rotatable shafts.

Systems for and methods of diagnosing and treating a sacroiliac joint disorder

A method of diagnosing and treating a sacroiliac joint of a patient involving delivering a first member into the ilium via a first posterior approach, delivering a second member into the sacrum via a second posterior approach, coupling the first and second members to a pliers, and manipulating the first member relative to the second member via the pliers to determine an ailment of the sacroiliac joint.

Placement jigs for osteosynthesis systems and related methods are disclosed. Medical intervention may require fusing vertebrae of a diseased spinal column together. This often includes securing an interbody within an intervertebral space and anchoring an anterior cervical plate to the vertebrae. A placement jig may be received through the plate, removably coupled to the secured interbody with a press fit coupling, and used to abut the plate against the vertebrae to hold desired plate positioning so the plate may be anchored to the vertebrae with precision. By positioning the plate relative to the interbody using the placement jig, higher stress concentrations causing undesirable loosening associated with a misaligned plate may be avoided. In this manner, the useful life of the plate within a patient may be lengthened.

DEVICES AND METHODS FOR MINIMALLY INVASIVE IMMEDIATE IMPLANT STABILIZATION

A system for the amelioration of a recess (56) is disclosed, particularly of a recess in a porous, perforate material having cavities freed by the recess, said system comprising an element (2) for generating or coupling in mechanical energy, and a cylindrical collar (4, 40) having a central recess (44,45) for receiving a guide pin (8), wherein the guide pin (8), having a cannulation (35), is provided to be inserted substantially as far as the bottom of the recess (56) under positioning using a wire (52) before mechanical energy is applied, wherein the guide pin (8), in the area of the end thereof directed toward the bottom of the recess (56), is surrounded by an amelioration sleeve (7), wherein the external cylindrical jacket surface of the amelioration sleeve (7) has substantially the same external diameter as the collar (4, 40), and wherein the guide pin (8) is received movably in the central recess (44,45) such that, when mechanical energy is applied, the collar (4,40) can be moved relative to the guide pin (8) in the direction toward the bottom of the recess (8) while liquefying and laterally and/or longitudinally displacing the material of the amelioration sleeve (7).
