ILLUMINATION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DECOUPLING POWER DELIVERED TO AN LED LOAD FROM A PHASE-CUT DIMMING ANGLE
20170223794 · 2017-08-03 ·

An illumination device and method are provided for controlling light emitting diodes (LEDs). The LEDs (specifically, the LED loads) are controlled, e.g., brightness and color of the LED loads, independent of a phase-cut dimmer applied to the AC mains feeding a DC power supply. The power supply is active dependent upon the duration of a conduction angle supplied from the dimmer. The power supply, however, produces drive currents that are independent from the conduction angle by using a two-stage power supply and a relatively slow and fast control loops that are controlled through a microprocessor based control circuit. Parameters stored in the control circuit are drawn by the microprocessor to control the two-stage power supply to produce the drive currents independent and decoupled from the conduction angle yet dependent on the controller parameters.

20220047879 · 2022-02-17 ·

A system is disclosed for supplying a system and method for delivering a flow of electrons to an organism's airway for inhalation or mouth for ingestion. The system includes a pre-stage rectification and filtering module, a power conversion module, a post-stage rectification and filtering module, an output module, an over voltage protection module, a current-limiting protection module, and a pulse width controller. Each of these modules and components is configured to deliver a suitable voltage and flow of electrons via the output module comprising a negative electrode that emits electrons into the air stream, which then enters the organism's air passages (e.g. nose). Electrons emitted through the skin of the organism are captured by the output module's positive electrode. The flow of electrons from the system, to and through the organism and back to the system promotes cell metabolism and improved biological functioning of the organism.

Motor control circuit with power factor correction
11201540 · 2021-12-14 · ·

A motor control circuit with power factor correction capabilities that optimizes the voltage and current load applied to an electric motor for different motor speeds and torque levels. The preferred motor control circuit includes a power factor correction circuit and a step down conversion circuit through which current passes before it reaches the motor. A microprocessor preferably monitors the current supplied to the motor and the motor's speed. If the microprocessor determines that the current supplied to the motor is too high, it can reduce the level of current by either using a pulse width modulation (PWM) digital-to-analog control circuit to instruct the power factor correction circuit to reduce current or it can use a PWM digital control circuit to instruct the step down conversion circuit to reduce current. An output voltage limiter circuit can be used to detect the voltage of current supplied to the motor and turn off current to the motor if the voltage is above a predetermined level.

In response to a problem wherein a voltage of a capacitor of a power conversion device decreases when a voltage of an alternating current power supply is restored after once decreasing, the voltage of the capacitor drops below a maximum value of the voltage of the alternating current power supply when power is restored, and an inrush current occurs, the power conversion device, provided between an alternating current power supply and a load, is such that a decrease in an input voltage or an input current of a power converting unit is detected, a change in the voltage of the capacitor is predicted, and operations of the power converting unit are caused to stop before the voltage of the capacitor drops to or below the maximum value of the voltage of the alternating current power supply, thereby restricting an occurrence of an inrush current.

ALTERNATING CURRENT TO DIRECT CURRENT CONVERSION CIRCUIT

An alternating current to direct current conversion circuit includes N first power converters instead of a boost circuit including a power switch with a high withstand voltage. The N first power converters each have an input end and theses input ends are connected in series, to perform power factor correction. Therefore, the alternating current to direct current conversion circuit includes no power switch with a high withstand voltage, so that the alternating current to direct current conversion circuit has a small volume, low switching loss, less energy loss, and good heat dissipation, thereby increasing power density.
