Dermatological treatment device
The invention relates to a dermatological treatment device (1) including a laser head (2) capable of shooting a laser beam (3) towards a target region (4) of the skin (5) of a patient, a pyrometer (6) capable of measuring the temperature (T) of the skin (5) in said target region (4), a timer (7) capable of measuring the duration (D) of the laser shot, and a control means (8) capable of selectively activating or deactivating a laser shot, the control means (8) being configured to deactivate the laser shot when the duration (D) of the shot reaches a duration threshold in seconds (Sd) as determined by a linear function in the form Sd=(ToT)/C, where T is the measured temperature (T) of the skin, To is a target temperature, and C is an average heating coefficient of the skin.
Aesthetic method of biological structure treatment by magnetic field
Combined methods for treating a patient using time-varying magnetic field are described. The treatment methods combine various approaches for aesthetic treatment. The methods are focused on enhancing a visual appearance of the patient.
IRRIGATED ABLATION ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY HAVING OFF-CENTER IRRIGATION PASSAGEWAY
An irrigated ablation catheter includes a shaft and an electrode assembly affixed to a distal end of the shaft. The distal electrode assembly includes a manifold and an ablation electrode affixed together and extending along a center axis. The electrode has a distal irrigation passageway extending therethrough to an opening at a distal tip of the electrode. The opening of the irrigation passageway is offset in distance from the center axis, and allows a thermal sensor such as a thermocouple to be located in a sensor cavity in the electrode on or near the center axis. One variation involves providing a pair of distal irrigation passageways through the electrode where both of the openings of the passageways are offset from the center axis. The thermal sensor in this variation is located in the sensor cavity substantially on the center axis.
Arthroscopic surgical temperature control system
An arthroscopic surgical temperature control system and method able to monitor and control the temperature within a surgical site during arthroscopic ablation procedures in order to prevent tissue damage is provided.
TEMPERATURE INDICATOR FOR FIBER CONNECTORS AND METHODS REGARDING SAME
A medical laser fiber for receiving laser light and outputting the laser light to a location determined by a user, the fiber including a connector at a first end, and a laser output at a second end, and an indicator located on the connector, the indicator visually changing when a temperature of the connector is above a temperature threshold.
TEMPERATURE SENSING APPARATUS FOR USE WITH A PHOTO-THERMAL TARGETED TREATMENT SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A temperature measurement system for measuring a temperature of a measured surface includes: 1) a first temperature sensor; and 2) a reference surface including a second temperature sensor integrated therein. The first temperature sensor includes a field of view simultaneously covering both at least a portion of the measured surface and at least a portion of the reference surface, thus is configured for simultaneously taking a first measurement of both the portion of the measured surface and the portion of the reference surface. The first measurement of the reference surface taken by the first temperature sensor is compared to a second measurement taken by the second temperature sensor for use in calibrating the first temperature sensor.
SURGICAL LASER TREATMENT TEMPERATURE MONITORING
A surgical laser system includes a laser source configured to generate laser energy, a laser fiber optically coupled to the laser source and configured to discharge the laser energy and collect electromagnetic energy feedback from a treatment site, a photodetector configured to generate an output signal in response to the electromagnetic energy collected from the treatment site, a display, and a controller configured to produce an image or indication about the temperature at the treatment site on the display based on the output signal.
Visual electrode ablation systems
An apparatus may be used for ablating a target tissue region disposed along a tissue surface. The apparatus may comprise a means for directing ablating energy into the target tissue region through the tissue surface and a means for imaging the tissue surface along the target tissue region while selectively directing the ablating energy. The imaging means may be coupled to the energy directing means.
Method and devices for coagulation of tissue
Methods and devices described herein facilitate improved treatment of body organs.
AESTHETIC METHOD OF BIOLOGICAL STRUCTURE TREATMENT BY MAGNETIC FIELD
In combined methods for treating a patient using time-varying magnetic field, treatment methods combine various approaches for aesthetic treatment. A magnetic field generating device is placed proximate to a body region of the patient. The magnetic field generating device generates a time-varying magnetic field with a magnetic flux density in a range of 0.5 to 7 Tesla. The time-varying magnetic field is applied to the body region of the patient in order to cause a contraction of a muscle within the body region. A second therapy may be used by applying one or more of optical waves, radio frequency waves, mechanical waves, negative or positive pressure or heat to the body region of the patient.
