A cosmetic composition in particular for coating keratinous fibers in the form of a wax-in-water emulsion and including at least one hydroxyalkyl starch, characterized in that the hydroxyalkyl starch constitutes the main emulsifying system of the composition. Also, a process for makeup and/or non-therapeutic care in particular for keratinous fibers, including the application of a composition such as previously described on the keratinous fibers. Further, the use of a composition such as previously described in order to get a homogeneous and/or building makeup of the eyelashes on the keratinous fibers, in particular eyelashes.

A cosmetic composition in powder form for the care of keratinous fibres, which contains specific amounts of at least one surfactant, at least one binder and/or thickener and at least one hair-conditioning active ingredient, and which is dissolved and foamed in contact with water. The present invention further relates to a method of conditioning hair using the powder cosmetic composition.

A powdered cosmetic cleansing composition which contains specific amounts of at least one anionic surfactant, at least one polyhydric C.sub.2-C.sub.6 alcohol and at least one polysaccharide, and which is dissolved and foamed in contact with water. The present invention further relates to a method of cleansing the human body and/or hair using the powdered cosmetic cleansing composition.

The invention relates to the field of film-forming agents for cosmetic or dermatological use, that are capable of conferring a barrier effect or a fixative effect on a cosmetic preparation. The barrier effect makes it possible to protect the skin from environmental pollution, for example microparticles and volatile organic compounds, and more particularly from urban atmospheric pollution. The fixative effect makes it possible to reduce or eliminate the transfer of pigments and/or dyes, and to increase the hold of the hairstyle or the shaping of head hair, body hair or eyelashes.

A complexion base in the form of an oil-in-water or water-in-oil emulsion including at least one leguminous starch having an amylose content higher than or equal to 30%, at least one plasticiser selected from polyols, at least one oil and at least one emulsifying agent and water, with the understanding that the starch is present in a dry-matter content included between 1% by weight and 25% by weight, with respect to the total weight of the complexion base. Also, the use of such a complexion base to improve holding over time of the make-up, preferably to improve the resistance to sweat and to sebum.

The hair care formulation has a second weight and includes starch having a third weight. The third weight is 3 to 15% of a sum of the first weight and the second weight. The spraying device is attached to the pressurisable container. The spraying device is configured to facilitate dispensing of the hair care formulation from the reservoir. The spraying device includes an actuator and a valve.

A preparation in the form of a powder containing: (a) at least one carotenoid, (b) at least one modified starch, and (c) sucrose; wherein the at least one carotenoid is present in the powder in an amount of 1 to 25% by weight, based on the weight of the powder; and wherein the at least one carotenoid and the sucrose are present in the powder in a ratio by weight of 1:2 to 1:80.

The invention relates to the field of cosmetics, in particular oil-in-water emulsions or water-in-oil emulsions, comprising a sensory agent having a “cushion” and a softness effect. The invention relates to the non-therapeutic cosmetic use of a carboxyalkylated granular starch in an oil-in-water or a water-in-oil emulsion as a sensory agent having a “cushion” effect and a softness effect. A cream prepared according to this use has a whipped cream texture.
