WAKE-UP PROCESS FOR ELECTRICAL NETWORKS IN A VEHICLE HAVING AN ELECTRICAL DRIVE TRAIN
The invention relates to a device for activating a control unit in a second electrical network, starting from a first electrical network in a vehicle having an electrified drive train, the first electrical network being galvanically isolated from the second electrical network, the device comprising: a signal generating module for generating a wake-up signal in the first electrical network; a transformer which is designed to transmit the wake-up signal and electrical power from a first transformer winding on the first electrical network to a second transformer winding on the second electrical network, a rectifier circuit in the second electrical network, which circuit is connected to the second transformer winding and is designed to rectify the transmitted wake-up signal, and a switching element in the second electrical network, which element is connected to the rectifier circuit and is designed to activate a control unit (60) when the rectified wake-up signal is present or absent at an input of the switching element (50).
THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
A thermal management system (270) for rechargeable secondary batteries having an electrically insulating material (262) lining the interior of a metal case (260). One or more cell packs (24) made of individual cells (12) arranged within end frames (220) is disposed in the metal case (260). A thermally conductive granular filler (264) occupies the interstices (264A) between the individual cells (12) and the space between the cell pack and the electrically insulating material liner (262). The thermally conductive filler (264) decreases the thermal impedance from the cell pack (24) to the exterior surface of the metal case (260) to reduce cell pack temperature and increase battery life
VEHICLE GUIDANCE, POWER, COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A vehicle communication, power, and guidance system for use in guiding and communicating with a land vehicle along a roadway, the system comprising: one or more reference devices positioned along the roadway, each of the reference devices further comprising: a memory device for storing fixed values for one or more vehicle and traffic related parameters; and one or more transmission modules for transmitting said fixed values for one or more vehicle and traffic related parameters; a vehicle mounted device comprising: a receiving module for receiving transmitted signals from the transmission module of said reference devices; and a processing module for processing the received signals and a transmitter module to transmitting signals to the reference device to communicate with one or more controllers of the vehicle to guide and control movement of the vehicle along the roadway.
Energy Monitoring System for Discharging Energy in an Energy Transfer Device of a Vehicle
An energy monitoring system for discharging energy in an energy transfer device of a vehicle, including an isolation monitoring unit, a capacitor unit, a voltage terminal unit and a control unit. The voltage terminal unit is connectable to an energy storage system and transfers energy from the energy storage system to a vehicle subsystem. The isolation monitoring unit includes a first isolation resistor element and switch element. The resistor element is connectable to the voltage terminal unit via the switch element. The capacitor unit is connected to the voltage terminal unit and filters electromagnetic interference by storing energy during energy transfer to the subsystem. The control unit closes the first isolation switch element in case of a disconnection of the energy transfer to form a discharge circuit connecting the isolation monitoring unit and the capacitor unit. The discharge circuit discharges energy stored in the capacitor unit.
SYSTEM FOR REPLACING A REEL OF MATERIAL FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ELECTRICAL ENERGY STORAGE DEVICES AND RELATED METHOD
A system for replacing a reel of material for the production of electrical energy storage devices and comprising a self-driving vehicle for transporting a reel from a storage or receiving station to a change station is described; at least one support spindle carried by the vehicle and configured to support the reel and to transfer it, at the change station, to a feeding unit of an automatic machine for the production of the storage devices; and a gripping member carried by the vehicle and comprising at least one gripper configured to receive and grip an initial flap of the reel supported by the support spindle and to keep such initial flap tensioned along an unwinding path of the same.
Methods for Analysis of Vehicle Battery Health
The present disclosure relates to systems, devices, and methods for analyzing health of vehicle batteries. Vehicle batteries tend to degrade over time. The described systems, devices, and methods quantify this degradation (or quantify remaining health of the battery) by comparing average energy used to charge or discharge the battery by a charge level unit to a nominal quantity of energy used to charge or discharge a battery in optimal health by a charge level unit. Charge data for previous charge events of the vehicle battery can be used in the calculation, and can be filtered by identifying qualified charge events based on at least one of a number of metrics. Usage data for previous usage events of the vehicle battery can be used in the calculation, and can be filtered by identifying qualified usage events or subgroups of usage event based on at least one of a number of metrics.
