EXTENDABLE / RETRACTABLE LADDER
An extendable/retractable ladder assembly includes a first stile and a second stile and a plurality of rungs extending therebetween. Each stile may comprise a plurality of columns disposed in a nested arrangement for relative axial movement in a telescopic fashion. A connector assembly connects the rungs to respective columns in the first and second stiles. The ladder has improved manufacturability since connector assemblies may be assembled before connecting the rungs to respective columns. The standing surface of the rungs may be angled such that it is rotated towards horizontal when the ladder assembly is leaned against a wall. A latch assembly may be used to selectively lock relative axial movement between adjacent columns. The latch assembly includes a locking pin assembly comprised of a central post and an outer metal sleeve. An air damper may also be used to control airflow through the columns.
Manually-Actuated, Reduced-Pressure Systems For Treating Wounds
A manually-actuated, constant reduced-pressure apparatus for use with a reduced-pressure system for treating tissue at a tissue site includes a flexible, collapsible member that is operable to move between a compressed position and an extended position. The collapsible member may be disposed between a carrier member and a slider member that move between a compressed position and an extended position. The carrier member and slider member are urged away from each other by a constant-force biasing member, e.g., a constant force coil spring. As the apparatus moves from the compressed position to the extended position, a constant reduced-pressure is generated and delivered to a reduced-pressure port. Methods of manufacturing a manually-actuated, constant reduced-pressure apparatus and methods of treating a tissue site are also provided.
FIBRE OPTIC MONITORING INSTALLATION AND METHOD
The invention relates to installations for fibre optic monitoring of articles, and apparatus and methods for forming such installations, including a modular system and components for forming a fibre optic monitoring installation. Applications of the invention include the monitoring of vessels, chambers, and fluid conduits in industrial processing plants, and the invention has particular application to monitoring large vessels, for example temperature monitoring of vessels used in catalytic reforming processes. Convenient installation on or removal from the article being monitored is achieved by providing a support structure for the fibre optic length, which presents the fibre optic length in a preconfigured orientation suitable for monitoring the article. In a particular embodiment of the invention, the fibre optic length is disposed on a panel in a plurality of dense spiral patterns.
Heat Exchanger Having an Interference Rib
One aspect of this disclosure provides a heat exchanger that comprises a first panel half coupled to a corresponding second panel half that form a passageway having at least a first chamber adjacent an inlet end of the passageway and a second chamber and overlapping interference patterns formed in each of the first and second panel halves that extend along at least a portion of the length of the passageway and located between at least the first and second chambers.
LENS AND COLOR FILTER ARRANGEMENT, SUPER-RESOLUTION CAMERA SYSTEM AND METHOD
A lens and colour filter assembly contains lens units, and each lens unit is assigned to a single-colour colour filter unit. The lens and colour filter assembly may be combined with pixel units such that a plurality of monochromatic, low-resolution images can be obtained, and the monochromatic images refer to shifted versions of the same image object. By a super-resolution technique comprising shift-compensation a mosaicked image is obtained which is then demosaiced. In the resultant image only few artefacts appear. Simple colour filter arrays allow a simplified fabrication process and provide less chromatic aberrations at less computational effort.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR IDENTIFYING PRODUCT
A method and system for identifying product is disclosed. A product identifier having product identifying information for one of a plurality of consumable products is provided. The product identifier is selected for a consumable product. The product identifier is displayed at or near a location on a dispensing system, or where access to the consumable product is provided. The system uses a product identifier having product and/or brand information for one or more consumable products. A window is provided in a body of a dispenser or other member of a dispensing system for viewing the product identifier associated with the consumable product therein.
GUIDE PIN ASSEMBLY FOR METAL FORMING DIES AND METHOD
A guide pin assembly for metal forming dies includes a cylindrical guide pin body with an external retainer groove adjacent one end thereof in which a retainer ring is received. An annular guide pin ring with an outside diameter greater than the pin body, has a counterbore adjacent the outside end thereof and a retainer groove in a medial portion thereof which receives the outer portion of the retainer ring to securely interconnect the pin body and the ring and thereby form an enlarged head at one end of the pin body which positively limits reciprocal motion between two associated die members. A circular guide pin head cap covers the outer end of the head ring, and includes a support collar that is closely received in the counterbore of the ring, and engages the retainer ring to securely hold the same in place.
BEEKEEPING SYSTEMS, APPARATUS, AND METHODS
A beekeeping apparatus includes a bottom side having an arcuate groove defined therein, the arcuate groove being sized and dimensioned to correspond to the rim of a repository; and a top side including a recessed area defined therein, the recessed area being sized and dimensioned to correspond to a beekeeping frame, and a plurality of generally rectangular openings defined through the recessed area, the rectangular openings each being sized and dimensioned to receive and retain a portion of a beekeeping frame, and collectively being sized and dimensioned to receive and retain portions of different sizes of beekeeping frames.
INJECTION TRAINING APPARATUS USING 3D POSITION SENSOR
Systems and methods are disclosed for an apparatus and method for practicing injection techniques through an injectable apparatus. The injectable apparatus may contain a camera that is configured to provide three-dimensional location information for a testing tool based on light attenuated from the testing tool after it is injected into a simulated human or animal body parts. A training tool may be connected to a user display device to generate a display of the injection apparatus as well as the performance parameters of a trainee.
Spring Lock
A spring lock includes a sinusoidal spring that has one or more crests and troughs formed along a length of the sinusoidal spring, the length extending along a sliding axis, the one or more crests and troughs forming a sinusoidal spring profile. The spring lock further includes a lock bar that has a track extending along the sliding axis, the track being configured to hold the sinusoidal spring and allow the sinusoidal spring to move along the sliding axis, the track further including one or more depressions and plateaus with the depressions and plateaus forming a lock bar profile, wherein the spring lock is locked when the sinusoidal spring profile and the lock bar profile are out-of-phase and the spring lock is unlocked when the sinusoidal spring profile and the lock bar profile are in-phase.
