PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A PUFA-CONTAINING FEEDSTUFF BY EXTRUDING A PUFA-CONTAINING BIOMASS

In accordance with the invention, it was found, surprisingly, that a polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs)-comprising biomass with other feedstuff components can be extruded at a low energy input of 12-28 Wh/kg to give an extrudate with a very high oil load capacity.

FEEDSTUFF OF HIGH ABRASION RESISTANCE AND GOOD STABILITY IN WATER, CONTAINING PUFAS

According to the invention, it was found that, surprisingly, a feedstuff having a very high abrasion resistance and very high water stability can be obtained when a PUFA-containing biomass having a high sulphate content is used for producing the feedstuff.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A GRANULAR BIOMASS WHICH CONTAINS AN OXIDATION-SENSITIVE VALUABLE SUBSTANCE

According to the invention, it has been found that a particulate biomass containing an oxidation-sensitive material of value can be converted into a particularly easy-to-handle product in a gentle manner if it is subjected to a granulation with the addition of an agglomeration auxiliary.

PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A PUFA-CONTAINING BIOMASS WHICH HAS HIGH CELL STABILITY

According to the invention, it was found that culturing of PUFA-producing cells in a content of sulphate makes it possible to obtain a biomass having high cell stability and thus PUFAs protected against oxidation in a sustained manner, which biomass can in addition be advantageously further processed into a feedstuff.

FEED COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING FAECAL BINDER MATERIALS

An extruded, pressed or particulate fish feed is described. Also described is a method for reduction of the content of undesired nutrients in water discharged from a fish farm, and a process for increasing the mechanical strength or shear resistance of faeces from fish in a fish farm.

APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING FERMENTED SOYBEAN MEAL

An exemplary embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus for producing fermented soybean meal, which produces fermented soybean meal for monogastric animals and ruminant selectively or together. An apparatus for producing fermented soybean meal according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes: a solid-liquid separating part, which mixes raw material soybean meal and an extraction solvent and extracts the soybean meal, and separately produces a remaining soybean meal and a soybean meal extract; a lactic acid bacteria culturing part, which produces the lactic acid bacteria by putting inoculum into the soybean meal extract, and supplies the lactic acid bacteria to the solid-liquid separating part; a solid substrate fermenting part, which is selectively supplied with and mixes at least two of the remaining soybean meal supplied from the solid-liquid separating part, the raw material soybean meal supplied through bypass, and lactic acid bacteria supplied from the lactic acid bacteria culturing part to produce a mixed material, and solid-substrate ferments the mixed material to produce primary solid substrate fermented soybean meal; and a drier, which dries the primary solid substrate fermented soybean meal supplied from the solid substrate fermenting part to produce secondary solid substrate fermented soybean meal.

Various embodiments disclosed relate to modified triglyceride including omega-3 fatty acid residue, structured fat blends including the same, food and fish feeds including the same, and methods of making any of the foregoing. A modified triglyceride includes an omega-3 fatty acid residue and a saturated fatty acid residue. A structured fat blend including the modified triglyceride can be a product of interesterification of a starting material triglyceride including an omega-3 fatty acid residue and a highly saturated triglyceride. When used in a fish feed, the modified triglyceride can experience less leakage in water than the starting material triglyceride including the omega-3 fatty acid residue.

PHYTASE VARIANTS AND POLYNUCLEOTIDES ENCODING SAME

The present invention relates to phytase variants. The present invention also relates to polynucleotides encoding the variants; nucleic acid constructs, vectors, and host cells comprising the polynucleotides; and methods of using the variants.
