An apparatus for removing a needle from a needle holder, including a grasping unit for selectively grasping the needle; a receiving unit for receiving the needle holder, displaceably disposed relative to the grasping unit; a biasing member biasing the receiving unit in a first direction; and separating means for separating the entire needle from the needle holder. Preferably, the needle is heated to melt, soften, or otherwise weaken a material and/or adhesive connecting the needle with the needle holder. Preferably the heating is electrical heating, including completing an electrical circuit through the needle and passing current through the needle, and/or passing current through a heating element.

Attachment for making up or breaking out pipe

An attachment is described that is configured for attachment to an arm of a piece of heavy construction equipment. The attachment is configured to rotate a section of pipe during break out (i.e. disconnection or disassembly) from another section of pipe and/or make up (i.e. connection or assembly) with another section of pipe. The attachment is configured to break the joint or torque the joint to a predetermined torque value, unthread or thread pipe, and lift the pipe under the power of the heavy construction equipment.

PEN NEEDLE REMOVAL DEVICE FOR A DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
20240277945 · 2024-08-22 · ·

A removal device (121, 221) for removing and disposing of a pen needle (113, 213) connectable to a drug delivery device (111, 211) includes a body (123, 223) having a cavity (141, 241) for receiving the pen needle of the drug delivery device such that a patient end (116, 216) of a needle (115, 215) of the pen needle is covered by the body. An ejector (151, 251) is movably connected to the body (123, 223) for engaging the received pen needle (113, 213) and selectively ejecting the engaged pen needle from the body. The pen needle (113, 213) is securely retained within the removal device (121, 221) without exposing the needle (115, 215) of the pen needle until the pen needle (113, 213) can be properly disposed of, such as in a sharps container, thereby substantially preventing an accidental needle stick.

DEVICE FOR AND METHOD OF INSTALLATION OF COMPONENT WITHIN AND REMOVAL FROM A BORE
20180313450 · 2018-11-01 ·

A method for removably securing a component within a bore having a shoulder, includes: forming a housing with a generally cylindrical wall with an open first axial end and a partially closed second axial end having an annular shoulder, and an annular lip section at the first end of the cylindrical housing wall, the lip section having a radially outwardly projecting and circumferentially extending annular ridge, an inner chamfer creating a frustoconical surface with a base toward the housing first axial end and an outer chamfer creating a frustonconical surface with a base toward the housing first axial end; and, inserting the housing into the bore, engaging the bore shoulder, engaging the inner chamfer of the housing lip section with a tool for applying axial force, the tool having a conical surface corresponding to and engageable with the housing inner chamfer, and applying axial force against the inner chamfer by means of the conical surface of the tool.

Detachment device and material detachment process
10100543 · 2018-10-16 ·

A detachment device especially of use as a material detachment device for detaching installed drywall is described. The detachment device has a material-engagement portion and a handle portion. The material-engagement portion has a beveled free end. The handle portion has a handle free end, is engaged with the material-engagement portion, and is transverse to the material-engagement portion. The material-engagement portion and the handle portion are shaped and configured to wholly or partly detach either or both installed material (such as drywall) and one or more attachment members (such as nails, screws, or dabs or beads of glue). A material detachment process especially of use as a drywall detachment process is also described which includes two analogous steps preceded by accessing (a) the installed material and (b) the one or more structural members (such as studs) to which the installed material is attached by one or more attachment members.

Clip sheath for a polymer scaffold

A sheath is placed over a crimped scaffold to reduce recoil of the crimped polymer scaffold and maintain scaffold-balloon engagement relied on to hold the scaffold to the balloon when the scaffold is being delivered to a target in a body. The sheath has an opening spanning the length of the sheath. The opening spans an arc length of about 90 degrees with respect to the circumference of the scaffold or balloon. The sheath may be removed from the scaffold by pinching the sheath between a thumb and forefinger, or bending or peeling back the sheath from the edges of the opening using fingertips.
