Auto-Injector with Cap
A drug delivery device includes a housing, a syringe assembly including a barrel, a stopper, a cannula, and a rigid needle shield receiving at least a portion of the cannula, with at least a portion of the syringe assembly positioned within the housing, a drive assembly, with a portion of the drive assembly positioned within the housing, a cap secured to the housing, with the cap including an outer portion defining an interior space and a retainer comprising a body with a removal projection configured to remove the rigid needle shield upon axial movement of the outer portion of the cap away from the housing, and a needle cover having a pre-use position, an actuation position, and a post-use position. The outer portion receives a portion of the needle cover, with the outer portion configured to prevent movement of the needle cover from the pre-use to the actuation position.
Gasket and syringe having the same
A gasket suitable for a syringe stopping with vacuum is provided. The gasket is compatible with sliding property within the sleeve and water-tightness of the syringe barrel after exiting the sleeve. The gasket includes a gasket body made of a liquid-resistant hard plastic having a tip surface contacting medicinal solution and a concave groove formed on a side surface facing an inner peripheral surface of a syringe barrel and formed continuously to the tip surface contacting medicinal solution; and a sliding contact ring made of an elastic material fitted in the concave groove. Then, an outer diameter D1 of a peripheral end of a tip portion including the tip surface contacting medicinal solution of the gasket body is set to be larger than the outer diameter D4 of the sliding contact ring.
PECVD COATED PHARMACEUTICAL PACKAGING
An article or vessel is described including a vessel surface and a coating set comprising at least one tie coating, at least one barrier coating, and at least one pH protective coating. For example, the coating set can comprise a tie coating, a barrier coating, a pH protective coating and a second barrier coating; and in the presence of a fluid composition, the fluid contacting surface is the barrier coating or layer. The respective coatings can be applied by PECVD of a polysiloxane precursor. Such vessels can have a coated interior portion containing a fluid with a pH of 4 to 8. The barrier coating prevents oxygen from penetrating into the thermoplastic vessel, and the tie coating and pH protective coating together protect the barrier layer from the contents of the vessel. The second barrier coating is comparable to glass surface if needed.
SYRINGE BARREL, PREFILLED SYRINGE, AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A method for manufacturing a syringe barrel includes: providing a syringe barrel comprising a hollow body portion having an inner surface, the syringe barrel being configured such that a gasket is insertable into the syringe barrel and slidable on the inner surface of the body portion; applying a non-reactive silicone oil having a viscosity in a range of 3000 cps to 30000 cps to the inner surface of the body portion by spraying the silicone oil with a coating amount rate of 0.02 mg/cm.sup.2 to 0.2 mg/cm.sup.2; and heating the silicone oil applied to the inner surface of the body portion in a state in which a liquid is not filled in the syringe barrel, without using a tool to spread or smooth the silicone oil.
SEALING ARRANGEMENT FOR DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
A drug delivery device includes a housing releasably coupled with a patient, a container disposed in the housing, a plunger disposed in the container, an activation mechanism, and a seal member. The container includes a wall with an interior surface. The plunger includes an interior surface and is moveably disposed in the container. The interior surfaces of the wall and the plunger define a reservoir adapted to contain a drug. The activation mechanism is adapted to release a drive fluid for moving the plunger through the container to expel the drug therefrom. The seal member is moveably disposed in the container and is adapted to inhibit ingress of the drive fluid into the reservoir.
GASKET, SYRINGE INCLUDING SAME, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING GASKET
A gasket includes a gasket body and a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) film. The gasket body includes a solution contact portion and a slide contact portion. The PTFE film is attached to a solution contact surface of the solution contact portion of the gasket body. Besides, a circumferential end portion of the PTFE film is curved toward the slide contact portion of the gasket body such that a circumferential end surface of the PTFE film is buried in the slide contact portion of the gasket body so as not to be exposed to outside.
DRUG INJECTION CARTRIDGE AND DRUG INJECTOR COMPRISING SAME
The present invention relates to a drug injection cartridge and a drug injector comprising same, and has an anti-pushing part (100) formed between a needle part (10) and a cartridge (20), thereby preventing a rubber film from being expanded by pressure applied to the cartridge (20), such that a drug does not leak, and the accuracy of drug injection can be improved.
Compartmentalized syringe for combined medicine and flush solution
A compartmentalized syringe configured to retain both the medicine and the flushing solution in the same housing. At least one smaller fluid or solid containing container will be added inside the flush housing and will separate its content(s) from other fluids or solids inside the flush housing. The shape of the housing and inner containers can be similar with the outer syringe flush with channels to facilitate the flow of fluids and they can also be of different shapes which will automatically create channels to allow the flow of fluid. An opening in the syringe plunger configured to receive a medicine vial.
PRE-FILLED PHARMACEUTICAL PACKAGE COMPRISING A LIQUID FORMULATION OF A VEGF-ANTAGONIST
A pre-filled pharmaceutical package comprising a liquid formulation of a VEGF-antagonist, for example Ranibizumab, in a pre-filled pharmaceutical package, for example a syringe, cartridge, or vial, made in part or in whole of a thermoplastic polymer, coated on the interior with a tie coating or layer, a barrier coating or layer, a pH protective coating or layer, and optionally a lubricity coating or layer. Stability performance of the VEGF-antagonist packaged in the coated COP vessel comparable to or better than glass was obtained.
Coated packaging
A vessel has an interior surface facing a lumen. The interior surface includes a tie coating or layer, a barrier coating or layer, and a pH protective coating or layer. The tie coating or layer can comprise SiO.sub.xC.sub.y or SiN.sub.xC.sub.y, where x is from about 0.5 to about 2.4 and y is from about 0.6 to about 3. The barrier coating or layer can comprise SiO.sub.x, wherein x is from 1.5 to 2.9. The barrier coating or layer reduces the ingress of atmospheric gas into the lumen. The pH protective coating or layer can comprise SiO.sub.xC.sub.y or SiN.sub.xC.sub.y, as well. In an embodiment, in the presence of a fluid composition contained in the lumen and having a pH between 5 and 9, the calculated shelf life of the package can be more than six months at a storage temperature of 4° C.
