PRIMING APPARATUS FOR A DRIP CHAMBER OF A FLUID INFUSION SYSTEM
Apparatuses for priming a drip chamber of an infusion tube seta are described. A priming apparatus may be incorporated into a cavity of a body, such as a drip chamber cap, that is attached to or integrally formed with the inlet side of drip chamber. The priming apparatus includes a closure mechanism at least a portion of which is accommodated in a cavity in the body. The cavity is part of an outflow or vent passage through the body (e.g., the drip chamber cap) and the closure mechanism is operable, e.g., responsive to user force, to selectively open the outflow passage, thereby unsealing the vent cavity to ambient air and allowing air to be purged from the fluid system during priming of the drip chamber. When the closure mechanism is an closed position, the outflow passage and vent cavity as sealed from ambient air, preventing any air from passing into the fluid system through the cap.
FLUID CONNECTOR
A connector is provided comprising first and second hollow connector bodies, the connector having a first expanded position providing a first fluid flow path through the first hollow connector body, and a second collapsed position providing a second fluid flow path through the first and second hollow connector bodies.
Catheter valve
The present invention relates to a catheter valve for use with a catheter. The catheter valve comprises an inlet nozzle at a front end of the valve and an outlet nozzle at a rear end of the valve. The valve comprises a longitudinal stem encapsulated within a middle section of the valve which extends in between the front end and the rear end of the valve. The longitudinal stem is divided into a front end and a rear end by a rib and an O-ring is inserted into the front end of the stem; and a resilient means is inserted into the rear end of the stem; the front end of the longitudinal stem further comprises sectional longitudinal grooves which cuts across the longitudinal and cylindrical stem extending from a head end of the front end of the stem up till the rib of the stem and the head end is curved inwardly in between each sectional longitudinal groove; and the rear end of the longitudinal stem further comprises sectional longitudinal grooves which cuts across the longitudinal and cylindrical stem in a triangular form extending from a head end of the rear end of the stem up till a bottom interface of the rib.
MULTIFUNCTONAL APPLICATOR FOR MOBILE USE
The invention relates to a multifunctional applicator for mobile use having an applicator plug, a supply tube, a Y-piece, fork tubes and a nose piece with prongs, wherein the applicator plug comprises a pressure chamber that has a humidifier interface for connection with a high flow therapy device, an oxygen supply port having an opening diameter of at least 1 mm, and a therapy air supply port for the supply tube, the humidifier interface and the oxygen supply port within the pressure chamber each having an upper and a lower valve seat that are provided with a seal and a valve body being movable between said valve seats and said valve body being subjected to a force by a helical compression spring from the direction of the oxygen supply port and on the other hand being pushed against the upper valve seat by an actuating element of the high flow therapy device when the applicator plug is locked in place on the high flow therapy device.
Valves
A valve comprising: a valve body; and a valve stem disposed at least partially within the valve body, the valve stem comprising a sidewall defining a central lumen and at least one opening in the sidewall, wherein the valve is adapted to prevent fluid flow through the lumen when the at least one opening is disposed within the valve body and permit fluid flow through the lumen when the at least one opening is exposed from the valve body, and wherein the valve is essentially free of a spring.
MFLP-valve for a pressure source
A mechanical fluid pressure modification valve, or “MFLP-valve”, is set forth. The MFLP-valve can be actuated upon movement of a movable pressure system member of a medical pressure system reaching a selected position. Additionally, the MFLP-valve can be actuated based on a pressure condition of the system. When the MFLP-valve unseals, a pressure differential between a pressure chamber and a volume outside of the chamber can be relieved. Disengagement of the movable pressure system member from the MFLP-valve can enable the MFLP-valve to re-seal. The MFLP-valve may include a flag that indicates the position of the movable pressure system member. The MFLP-valve may be provided in a diaphragm-type pressure source.
Dialysis machine and constant flow regulator
A dialysis machine, in particular for hemodialysis and/or hemofiltration, having a dialyzate system and having a water inlet via which the dialyzate system can be connected to an external water supply. The dialysis machine includes a constant flow regulator that is arranged between the water connection and the dialyzate system.
Septum actuator with insertion depth limiter and compression compensator
A multi-use intravenous infusion assembly is presented which includes a septum actuator having various features to prevent over-insertion of the septum actuator through a slit in a blood control septum. By preventing over-insertion of the septum actuator, the slit of the septum is able to repeatedly self-close following removal of an external Luer device. Thus, the intravenous infusion assembly may be used repeatedly without exposing a clinician to blood and other infusion fluids.
Device for Fluidly Connecting a Medical Container to a Connector and Method for Manufacturing Said Device
The device includes a housing, said housing defining an internal conduit for circulation of the medical fluid from a fluid inlet to a fluid outlet,
a slider arranged inside the internal conduit such that the slider is movable along a central longitudinal axis A between an opening position, wherein the medical fluid is allowed to flow through the fluid outlet, and a closing position, wherein the medical fluid is prevented from flowing through said fluid outlet,
a plug connected to the slider said plug being configured to close the fluid outlet when the slider is in the closing position,
a resilient member disposed proximally to the plug and configured to exert a proximal force on said the slider such that the resilient member maintains the slider in the opening position,
a proximally oriented pressure area provided on an actuation member of the slider, said pressure area being configured to cause the slider to reach the closing position against the action of the resilient member when the medical fluid pressure exerted upon said pressure area is equal to or higher than a predetermined threshold, thereby causing the plug to close the fluid outlet.
