Generating Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) with High Uniformity throughout the Brain
This application discloses configurations for arranging transducer arrays on a person's head to impose tumor treating fields (TTFields) in the brain at field strengths that are as uniform as possible throughout the entire brain. In some embodiments, L-shaped sets of electrodes are positioned near the right and left ears, each with a horizontal arm above the ear and a vertical arm behind the ear. Optionally, these embodiments may be combined with a second pair of electrodes positioned on top of the head and behind the neck. In other embodiments, one pair of electrodes is positioned above the right ear and on the left/rear portion of the neck; and a second pair of electrodes is positioned above the left ear and on the right/rear portion of the neck. These configurations improve the uniformity of the electric fields imposed throughout the brain, and are particularly useful for preventing and/or treating metastases.
SKIN TREATMENT APPARATUS USING FRACTIONAL PLASMA
The present invention relates to a skin treatment apparatus using plasma, in which a plasma generator 400 includes an electrode plate 420, an upper dielectric body 430, independent electrode parts 440, and a lower dielectric body 450. The independent electrode parts are a plurality of pieces of silver paste or flexible printed circuit boards (FPCBs) which are spaced a certain distance apart from each other. According to the present invention, electrode parts operate independently to prevent a plasma concentration phenomenon and uniformly generate plasma. According to the present invention, a plasma generator configured as described above is easy to form in a convex shape, and a convex plasma generator is applicable to a curved region of the skin to be treated, e.g., a palm. Furthermore, the convex plasma generator is capable of more uniformly generating plasma and is particularly effective for treatment of a long and round cylindrical object to be treated, e.g., the vagina of a woman.
ELECTRICAL STIMULATOR
An electrical stimulator is provided including: a base wire configured with a core wire and an outer winding wire wound around the core wire with the core wire serving as a winding axis. The core wire is entirely coated by an insulating film, and an annulus is formed by spiraling or looping the base wire. One end of the core wire is electrically connected to one end of the outer winding wire. The other end of the core wire is connected to a first terminal of an external circuit. Further, the other end of the outer winding wire is connected to a second terminal of the external circuit. Thus, the annulus can apply an electrical stimulation to a living body.
Modular stimulus applicator system and method
A modular stimulus applicator system and method are disclosed. The system includes a plurality of wirelessly controlled stimulus pods, anchored to a patient's body, and configured to deliver stimulus to the patient's body. The stimulus can be heat, vibration, or electrical stimulus, or any combination thereof. The stimulus pods are controlled by a control station that can include a user-interface through which the patient can control application of the stimulus.
HAIR LOSS REGROWTH AND HAIR TREATMENT DEVICE
A hair restoration apparatus (100) restores hair loss and prevents further loss. The apparatus (100) includes a restoration insert (102). The restoration insert (102) includes a magnet substructure (104). A magnet array (106) is formed within the magnet substructure (104). The array (106) includes individual therapy magnets (108). The substructure (104) provides a base for the therapy magnets (108) to be positioned in close proximity to the scalp of a user (112).
Method and system for altering body mass composition using galvanic vestibular stimulation
A device and method are provided for altering body mass composition in a human subject by applying galvanic vestibular stimulation (GVS) using electrodes placed in electrical contact with the subject's scalp at a location corresponding to each of the subject's left and right vestibular systems. The current source includes a feedback loop for measuring a resistance across the subject's scalp and adjusting a voltage output to maintain a constant current across the subject's scalp. GVS may be applied for a predetermined period of time at regular intervals.
NON-INVASIVE NERVE STIMULATION TO TREAT OR PREVENT AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS AND OTHER DISORDERS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT
Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for treating or preventing an autism spectrum disorder, a pervasive developmental disorder, or a disorder of psychological development. The methods comprise transmitting impulses of energy non-invasively to selected nerve fibers, particularly those in a vagus nerve. The nerve stimulation may be used as a behavior conditioning tool, by producing euphoria in an autistic individual. Vagus nerve stimulation is also used to modulate circulating serotonin levels in a pregnant woman so as to reduce the risk of having an autistic child; modulate the levels of growth factors within a child; promote balance of neuronal excitation/inhibition; modulate the activity of abnormal resting state neuronal networks; increase respiratory sinus arrhythmia; and avert episodes of motor stereotypies with the aid of forecasting methods.
Method and device for enhancing memory consolidation
The present invention relates to methods and devices to consolidate memory and/or cognitive functions by monitoring brain rhythms and delivering a stimulus at an appropriate stage of sleep cycle.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR TRANSDERMAL STIMULATION OF THE OUTER EAR
Transdermal electrical stimulation (TES) applicators that are wearable and configured to attached to a subject's pinna (ear) and adapted to apply TES to modulate the subject's cognitive and/or physiological state. These apparatuses may be configured so that they can be worn against the ear (e.g., the cymba of the ear) to deliver TES. Also described herein are methods of using them to modulate a subject's cognitive state. These TES applicators may also be adapted to function as audio headphones for concurrent delivery of TES and audible signals (e.g., music).
ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL AND STIMULATION ELECTRODE
An electrode includes a body and a breakable container contact-enhancing fluid on or in the body. The container is impermeable to the fluid, and is breakable in response to physical manipulation of the electrode to disperse the fluid into the body.
