Stowable lower body fitness apparatus providing enhanced muscle engagement, body stability and range of motion
A collapsible lower body fitness apparatus is disclosed, providing enhanced gluteal muscle engagement, body stability, and range of motion. The apparatus includes a base, a frame, a line-swiveling assembly, and a gripping device that is horizontally displaced from the line-swiveling assembly's swivel axis, allowing a user to stabilize themselves in tripod posture during exercise. Thus a user can perform full range of motion for any combination of hip extension and hip abduction under resistance transmitted by a line, all from a central standing position that substantially straddles the swivel axis. This functional framework of elements can be realized through a variety of possible embodiments. While the frame provides space for leaning during exercise, it may otherwise vary in structural design. In all cases, the frame can be collapsed into a stowable position that is substantially parallel with and adjacent to the base, thereby rendering the apparatus portable and stowable.
Resistance Training System
A physical training system includes a belt having a back attachment member and a first band attachment loop for an elastomeric belt. The back attachment member is moveably positioned on the belt and at least partially encircles the belt. The back attachment member comprises a first portion and a second portion, the first portion extending completely across a width of the belt on the outer side of the belt, and the second portion extending at least partially across the width of the belt on the inner side of the belt. The first band attachment loop is moveably connected to the back attachment member. The elastomeric band extends through the first band attachment loop. A foot coupling includes at least one flexible strap and a second band attachment loop. The elastomeric band extends between the foot coupling and the back attachment member.
Stabilization enhancement exercise device and associated method
A device for facilitating or enhancing torso and pelvis stability exercises includes two elongate semi-cylindrical resiliently compressible members so coupled to one another as to maintain a mutually parallel configuration, the resiliently compressible members each having a planar side and a cylindrically arcuate side, the planar sides being co-planar with one another. A user attachment component holds the resiliently compressible members to the user with the planar sides in contact with the user in one use configuration and so that the arcuate sides are in contact with the user in an alternate use configuration.
Portable strength training and exercise apparatus
A portable strength training and exercise apparatus constitutes an attachment belt to be worn by an individual about the waist. The attachment belt has attachments on center and side portions of the belt for attaching locking strap holders, used for attaching adjustment straps, which in turn, attach to resistance elastic tubes. Hollow balls are attached to ends of the resistance elastic tubes. For an upper extremities exercise, hollow balls are grasped in each hand and are moved by both arms in almost any direction or angle an individual can manage against the resistance of the resistance elastic tubes. For a lower extremities exercise, hollow balls are connected to the individual's feet using foot straps and are moved by both legs in almost any direction or angle an individual can manage against the resistance of the resistance elastic tubes.
Proprioceptive feedback assist device and associated method
A device for facilitating or enhancing proprioceptive feedback during breathing and related exercises includes a user attachment component attachable to a user about the thorax. Two elongate tensile members are connected at proximal ends to the user attachment component at points essentially just below the armpits of a user. These two elongate tensile members are connectable at their distal ends to the feet of the user. Another two tensile members are connected at their proximal ends to a back portion or strap of the harness and at their distal ends to or about the user's hands.
FOOTWEAR HARNESS FOR USER ACTIVITIES
A harness to be placed over footwear that includes a toe portion to be placed around a toe of the footwear. The toe portion may include a plurality of belts from a sole of the footwear to an upper surface of the footwear. The toe portion may further include coupling points located on the front surface and sides of the toe portion. The harness may include a heel portion to be placed around a heel of the footwear. The harness may include a bottom belt that runs along the sole of the footwear that is to couple the toe portion to the heel portion. The harness may further include top belts that run along the upper surface of the footwear that couple the toe portion to the heel portion.
Handle
Handles for use in exercise apparatus and in lifting apparatus are provided.
Lower extremity receiving device for providing enhanced leg mobility during lower body exercise
A lower extremity receiving device is disclosed, which facilitates enhanced gluteal muscle engagement, body stability, and range of motion. The device includes a self-standing sling that can stand upright and ready to receive a user's lower extremity and enable them to commence any combination of hip extension or hip abduction with proper form upon inserting their foot, the sling including a heel socket that surrounds and facilitates rotational movement of the user's heel during the applicable hip extension exercise, and a resistance harness connected to the sling and capable of engaging a resistance-transmitting line for exercise, the harness having a clearance space for providing clearance for a user's foot as they alternately insert or remove their foot. This functional framework of elements enables a user to perform full range of combination of hip extension and hip abduction under resistance, via hands-free insertion of either foot into the sling.
Exercise device
An exercise device that includes a frame, a user interface; a connection cable and a plurality of components that provide resistance to the cable and user interface. These components include a programmable, driven carriage capable of vertical movement between first and second positions and including one or more pulleys mounted thereon, wherein the cable extending away from the first end and user interface passes around the one or more pulleys on the carriage, a slider mechanism moveable between first and second positions and including one or more pulleys mounted thereon, and a pneumatic resistance device that is secured to the frame and that is operatively associated with the slider mechanism to provide resistance to slider mechanism movement between the first and second positions.
