HANDHELD SURGICAL ENDOSCOPE
A handheld surgical endoscope has a disposable, single-use portion that includes a fluid hub, cannula, distal tip and an integrated needle and a re-usable portion that includes a handle and display module. The distal tip includes LED illumination and an imaging module that feeds live video to the display module that is rotatable to allow viewing by the operator and others. The single-use and re-usable portions mate and un-mate with each other via physically separated mechanical and electrical connectors. The needle is actuatable to allow for both recessed and extended positions. The needle delivers liquid from a attached syringe that can be attached to the handle to move therewith or only connected to the endoscope by a flexible conduit. The surgical endoscope is configured for operation by a single clinician in many procedures.
Using an Intraoral Mirror with an Integrated Camera to Record Dental Status, and Applications Thereof
Disclosed embodiments integrate a camera into an intraoral mirror. Integrating a camera into an intraoral mirror provides an efficient way to record and display what is visible to the healthcare provider in the mirror.
Capsule orientation detection for capsule docking system with inductive power drive circuit
A capsule endoscopic system is disclosed for receiving data from a capsule device and providing inductive power to the capsule device wirelessly, where the capsule endoscopic system incorporates a feature to automatically protect the capsule device and the docking device from damage if the capsule device is docked in a backward orientation. In one embodiment, the docking device comprises a current sense circuit to detect the current flowing through the primary coil or primary drive circuit. The occurrence of wrong orientation can be detected from the current. A detection/control circuit can be used to provide the needed control in order to prevent damage to the system. In another embodiment, a resonant circuit comprising a capacitor and the primary coil is used to provide the needed protection when the capsule device is docked with a wrong orientation.
DIGITAL HEALTHCARE PRACTICE SYSTEM FOR DIGITAL CITIZENS
A web server based digital healthcare practice system to provide digital transformation of physician practice to twenty first century. Physician can provide in home remote patient examination using a smart pocketable integrated multi function device to perform all head to toe examination similar to his office. And can perform computer assisted cardio and pulmonary, abdominal sound diagnosis, ear, nose, throat analysis, and skin analysis from remote to pin point accurate ailment and write prescription to pharmacy, and bill insurance companies. Invention allows patients seek health care 24/7 in state, out of state, out of country and use in state insurance company to pay for the services. A virtual reality model of physician is available for normal everyday ailments.
The smart pocketable integrated device used is remotely controlled by the physician and has smarts build to make it very user friendly and is wirelessly connected to an application running on a smartphone/tablet/laptop which is connected to physician server.
ELECTRICAL DEVICE POWER MANAGEMENT
An electrical device includes a memory storing a value indicative the remaining available rated capacity of one or more batteries. The stored value is changed in use to reflect reducing capacity. The initial stored value is chosen so that there is a very high (e.g. >99.9%) confidence that the one or more batteries will provide at least the capacity indicated by the initial stored value. This reduces the chance of failure during emergency procedures. The one or more batteries may be integral to the electrical device. An override facility is provided.
Visual inspection device
A visual inspection device includes a body having a support portion and a grip portion extending from the support portion. The device also includes a flexible cable having a first end portion coupled to the body and a second end portion, and a camera assembly coupled to the second end portion of the flexible cable. The camera assembly includes an image sensor operable to transmit image data through the flexible cable. The device further includes a display supported by the support portion of the body. The display is electrically connected to the flexible cable to display image date from the image sensor. The device is powered by a rechargeable battery pack removably coupled to the body.
Method and Apparatus for Hysteroscopy and Endometrial Biopsy
Methods and devices are described for performing a combined hysteroscopy and endometrial sampling. Techniques for improving visual images include forward facing fluid ports for clearing tissue debris and LED positioning and design. Manufacturability is improved through separately formed tip and shaft pieces. User interface features are described including user-friendly handle-mounted buttons as well the use of an interactive integrated touch screen display. The handle and display can be mated to a docking station for storage and recharging batteries.
HANDHELD SURGICAL ENDOSCOPE WITH WIDE FIELD OF VIEW (FOV) AND ILLUMINATION BRIGHTNESS ADJUSTED BY AREA WITHIN THE FOV
A handheld surgical endoscope has a disposable, single-use portion that includes a and a re-usable portion that includes a handle and display module. The distal tip includes LED illumination and an imaging module that feeds live video to the display module. The imaging module includes a lens system of no more than two lenses and provides the imaging module with a field of view greater than 120 degrees, preferably 130 degrees or more, and most preferably 140 degrees or more. LED illumination is provided by plural LED arranged symmetrically around an optical axis to provide a field of illumination that substantially coincides with the field of view of an imaging module. An image brightness balance arrangement selectively varies the illumination provided by different LEDs to reduce brightness differences between different areas of the displayed images.
ELECTRONIC ADAPTOR FOR STEREOSCOPIC FIELD OF VIEW THROUGH A PORT
An adaptor associated with a stereoscopic field of view through a port. The adaptor includes a housing, frame, and cables. The housing includes circuits associated with imaging data. The frame is connected to the housing, and has a guide and aperture. The guide extends away from the frame and is configured to pass through an opening of the port. The guide includes a terminal end configured to extend into the port such that the aperture is in communication with the opening. The cables include sensors that receive the imaging data capable of producing the stereoscopic field of view. The sensors are disposed at a distance from one another at the terminal end of the guide, wherein the distance enables the sensors to receive the image data capable of producing the stereoscopic field of view. The cables extend from the sensors of the guide to respective integrated circuits in the housing.
Optoelectronic module and an imaging apparatus comprising the same
The present invention provides an optoelectronic module and an imaging apparatus such as an endoscope comprising such module. The optoelectronic module includes a housing and an image sensor. The image sensor's face has a perimeter S, the cross section of the optoelectronic module along the face has a perimeter H, and S<H<1.6S. In an example, illumination components such as a flashing LED and the image sensor are confined within the minimum bounding circle of the sensor's face. The invention exhibits technical advantage in minimizing the size of the insert portion of the endoscopy.
