A rigid endoscope, preferably a disposable endoscope, with a rigid tubular body comprises a separate observation channel having a closed end, into which an optical instrument (e.g. a camera) may be introduced. The rigid endoscope may be an anoscope, a rectoscope, a vaginoscope or an amnioscope.

Optical docking system with inductive powering for capsule camera

A capsule endoscopic system is disclosed, where the system comprises a capsule device and a docking device. The capsule device comprises a battery, a secondary coil, an optical transmitter all enclosed in a capsule housing. The docking device comprises a primary coil to generate an alternating magnetic field, a primary core and optical receiver to receive an optical signal. The alternating magnetic field is coupled to the secondary coil to supply power to the capsule device when the capsule device is at a docked position in the docking device. The primary core is arranged to concentrate the alternating magnetic field on the secondary coil when the capsule device is at the docked position. Furthermore, the capsule endoscopic system is arranged so that an optical path is formed between the optical transmitter and the optical receiver when the capsule device is at the docked position.

Image detecting capsule device and manufacturing thereof
10588496 · 2020-03-17 · ·

Autonomous/self-powering image detecting systems and their manufacturing technologies are disclosed. An antenna is used to communicate signals. A first energy harvester is used to harvest energy from blackbody radiation, RF signals, movement/vibration, or combination thereof. A power management system is used which controls the energy flow to and from the energy-storage. An image sensor to take the image, a lens, and a transmitter to transmit the images to an outside device are also used in this invention. According to this preferred embodiment, an energy harvester harnessing energy from blackbody radiation from and within the body, is used to extract enough energy to increase the operation time and also to make precision of the image detecting system.

Handheld surgical endoscope

A handheld surgical endoscope has a disposable, single-use portion that includes a fluid hub, cannula, distal tip and an integrated needle and a re-usable portion that includes a handle and display module. The distal tip includes LED illumination and an imaging module that feeds live video to the display module that is rotatable to allow viewing by the operator and others. The single-use and re-usable portions mate and un-mate with each other via physically separated mechanical and electrical connectors. The needle is actuatable to allow for both recessed and extended positions. The needle delivers liquid from a attached syringe that can be attached to the handle to move therewith or only connected to the endoscope by a flexible conduit. The surgical endoscope is configured for operation by a single clinician in many procedures.
