Methods of lowering heart rate during physical activity for a user in need of an increase in their smallest concentric airway cross-sectional area include providing the person with a mandibular repositioning device having a maxillary tooth covering having a driver flange protruding laterally outward on a right and left side proximate a backmost teeth mold and a mandibular tooth covering having a protrusive flange extending cranially therefrom positioned to have a posterior side engaged with the anterior side of each driver flange. The anterior side of each driver flange has a convex curvature, and the posterior side of each protrusive flange has a concave-to-convex curvature from its base toward its most cranial point and a convex portion of the concave-to convex curvature engages the convex curvature of the driver flange in a rest position, and downward movement of the mandibular piece moves the user's mandible forward as well.

CARDIOVASCULAR STATE DETERMINATION APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
20230000445 · 2023-01-05 ·

The invention comprises a method for estimating state of a cardiovascular system, comprising the steps of: providing a cardiac analyzer, comprising: a blood pressure sensor, the blood pressure sensor generating a time-varying pressure state waveform output from a portion of a person; a system processor connected to the blood pressure sensor; and a dynamic state-space model of a cardiovascular system, the system processor receiving cardiovascular input data, from the blood pressure sensor, related to a transient pressure state of the cardiovascular system, where at least one probabilistic model, of the dynamic state-space model, operating on the time-varying pressure state waveform output generates a probability distribution function to a non-pressure state of the cardiovascular system. The probability distribution function is iteratively updated using synchronized updated time-varying pressure state waveform output from the blood pressure sensor and a non-pressure state output related to a cardiovascular system parameter is generated.

MAXILLARY AND MANDIBULAR DEVICES THAT PREVENT DISENGAGEMENT THEREBETWEEN, CONTROLLER STATION, AND METHODS OF TREATING AND/OR DIAGNOSING MEDICAL DISORDERS
20230000663 · 2023-01-05 ·

Mandibular repositioning devices providing downward movement as well as forward movement of the mandible have a maxillary tooth covering having a driver flange protruding laterally outward on one or both sides thereof and have a mandibular tooth covering having a protrusive flange extending cranially therefrom positioned to have a posterior side engaged with the anterior side of each driver flange. The anterior side of each driver flange has a convex curvature. The posterior side of each protrusive flange has a concave-to-convex curvature positioned to move the convex portion thereof along the convex curvature of the driver flange when the mouth opens, which also moves the mandible forward. A plateau of a preselected height, which prevents disconnect between each protrusive flange and its respective driver flange relative to a fully open mouth measurement, is present between the base of the protrusive flange and the tooth covering.

MOUTH GUARD
20220409132 · 2022-12-29 ·

The present invention relates to a mouth guard having a new structure that protects a user's teeth more effectively, enables a user to feel food texture more effectively when masticating food, and is more firmly fixed to the teeth. The mouth guard according to the present invention comprises a plurality of fixing members 10 made of a hard material and coupled to the teeth 1 to support the teeth 1 and a connecting member 20 made of a synthetic resin material that is softer than the hard material of the fixing member 10 and provided between the fixing members 10 to interconnect the fixing members 10. Since the fixing member 10 is connected to the connection member 20 to be mutually movable by the connection member 20 in a state of being coupled to the user's teeth 1, the mouth guard can effectively protect the user's teeth 1 and can effectively deliver food texture to the teeth 1 when the user chews food. In particular, the mouth guard according to the present invention can prevent sugar and acid generated by a combination of food and saliva from contacting the teeth when eating food, and effectively prevent food debris from being caught between the teeth or between the teeth and gums, thereby preventing various dental diseases such as tooth decay.

ORTHODONTIC BRACES AND FEET ORTHOTICS WITH BACKSCATTER BASED SENSORS
20220409342 · 2022-12-29 ·

Inventions herein include at least mostly optically clear orthodontic braces and feet orthotics (collectively referred to as “appliances”) with backscatter based sensors. These two categories of appliances share a common property requiring that the given appliance must be correctly custom manufactured to fit a patient's own particular geometry and dimensions of their teeth and/or feet in order to perform as intended. Incorporating such appliances with backscatter based sensors enables simple, easy, fast, efficient, and cost effective measurements, in real-time or near real-time, of stresses, forces, structural changes, and/or the like in the given appliance; which in turn can aid in determining if adjustments or re-manufacture of the appliance may be needed or desired; and/or wherein such measurements may aid in evaluating performance of the given appliance. In some embodiments, such measurements may also be taken remotely away from a practitioner; and then communicated to a remotely located practitioner.

ORAL DEVICE FOR MEASURING RESPIRATORY SOUNDS
20220401059 · 2022-12-22 ·

The invention relates to a thermometer-shaped oral device for measuring respiratory sounds. The oral device comprises a mouthpiece with a metallic tip for placement under the tongue and a neck around which the lips seal the mouth closed, preventing outside noises from interfering with the measurement of the respiratory sounds. The oral device performs the auscultatory function traditionally performed by a stethoscope. The metallic tip may contain a thermistor for oral temperature measurement, and in various embodiments the oral device may further comprise other vital signs sensors. The oral device may be in communication with a cloud server, as part of a system for remote auscultation by a physician and/or analysis of auscultation and/or other vital signs by a healthcare bot for detecting progression of respiratory or other diseases.
