In some embodiments, the systems and devices of the invention include a housing, and a wiping member disposed within the housing being configured to wipe off the surface of one or more vessels, thereby establishing a contaminant-free fluid passageway between vessels.
System with adapter for closed transfer of fluids
A system includes a vial access device including a vial access housing having a wall defining an elongate opening between an opening proximal end and an opening distal end, the vial access housing including a spike and a vial connection element attachable to a first vial defining a first vial size to secure the vial access device to the first vial, and an adapter movable within the elongate opening of the vial access housing. The adapter is transitionable between a first position where the adapter is adjacent the opening distal end of the vial access housing and the adapter is attachable to a second vial defining a second vial size and a second position where the adapter is adjacent the opening proximal end of the vial access housing and the vial connection element of the vial access device is attachable to the first vial.
A SEPTUM HOLDER WITH MOVEABLE SEPTUM
Disclosed is a septum holder that comprises a body having an upper body part and a lower body part that has a bored out interior. An insert comprising at least one bore that forms the seat of a needle valve fits loosely into the bored out interior of the lower body part. A septum comprising an upper part is attached to an exterior surface of the lower body part of the septum holder. A lower part of the septum extends downward beyond the lower edge of the lower body part of the septum holder. The septum holder is characterized in that the insert can freely move up and down in the interior of the lower body part and the septum can freely move up and down on the exterior surface of the lower body part. Also disclosed is a connector section for a liquid transfer apparatus that comprises the septum holder.
VIAL ADAPTOR AND FLUID TRANSFER SYSTEM
A vial adaptor comprises first and second housings coupled to each other, a sheath enclosing the first and second housings, and a spike disposed in the first and second housings. The first and second housings form a first chamber therein. The sheath and the first and second housings form therebetween a second chamber in air communication with the first chamber. The second housing is slidable relative to the first housing to cause the spike piercing through a front stopper to establish air and fluid communication with a vial attached to the vial adaptor, meanwhile to vary the volume of the first chamber and press the air into the second chamber. Upon a fluid being drawn from the vial, the air in the first and second chambers enters the vial to compensate the pressure reduction caused by the fluid drawn out to prevent fluid spillage or aerosolizing from the vial.
Aseptic piercing system and method
The present disclosure provides aseptic vial piercing and sterilization systems, and methods of assembling, using and sterilizing same. The systems and methods utilize a pre-sterilized primary container including a first end, a first cavity, a second end with an opening in communication with the first cavity, a septum at least partially sealing the opening, and a product within the first cavity. The systems and methods include an injection assembly including a first end portion of a hollow flowpath forming member. The injection assembly and the primary container may be assembled in a non-sterile environment to form a second cavity extending about the first end portion of the flowpath forming member and to the primary container. The second cavity may then be selectively sterilized in a non-deleterious manner to the product to allow the first end portion to aseptically pierce the septum to extend into the first cavity.
Needleless Syringe Connector Cap and Container
A needleless syringe connector cap to be provided to a container having an aperture at its top, said cap comprising an elastically deformable plastic valve body. Said valve body comprises a first and second passage, each passage extending through the valve body. Both passages comprise a cross-slit valve in the extreme lower end of said passage, embodied as an aeration valve. The first passage is adapted to receive a first tapered syringe tip and the second passage is adapted to receive a second tapered syringe tip, wherein when fluid is withdrawn from a container to which the cap is provided through the first (second) passage using a first (second) tapered syringe tip to which said first (second) passage is adapted, the second (first) cross-slit valve opens in response to an under pressure in said container resulting from said withdrawal, so as to aerate said container.
PRESSURE-REGULATING VIAL ADAPTORS
A vial adaptor can include a connector interface and/or a piercing member. The vial adaptor can include a regulator assembly. The regulator assembly can include a regulator base, a regulator nest coupled with the regulator base, and/or a storage chamber formed at least partially by one or both of the regulator base and regulator nest. The regulator assembly can include a cover connected to one or both of the regulator base and regulator nest and fitted around a radially outward portion of one or both of the regulator base and regulator nest. In some cases, the regular assembly includes a flexible enclosure connected to the regulator nest and configured to transition between a contracted configuration and an expanded configuration. In some cases, the flexible enclosure is inhibited from transitioning to the expanded configuration prior to removal or modification of the cover from the regulator assembly.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SAFE MEDICAMENT TRANSPORT
A medicament transport system includes a syringe adapter assembly; and a vial adapter assembly including a base defining an opening having a seal member disposed therewithin, a stem extending from the base and defining a lumen therethrough and an opening through a wall thereof, a needle shuttle valve slidably disposed within the lumen of the stem and supporting a transfer needle and a vacuum needle; and a vacuum cup slidably supported on the stem, wherein a vacuum chamber is defined in the space between the base, the stem and the vacuum cup. The medicament transport system includes a condition where the transfer needle and the vacuum needles penetrate the seal member of the vial adapter assembly, and the vacuum cup is moved to draw a vacuum through the vacuum needle. An automation system is provided that utilizes a medicament transport system for forming a medicament solution from a liquid/non-liquid solution.
DEVICE FOR TRANSFERRING A LIQUID FROM A FIRST VIAL TO A SECOND VIAL
A device for transferring a liquid from a first vial to a second vial is disclosed having a dome portion configured to create an air flow when activated by compression and re-expansion, and a support body tightly supporting the dome portion to form a chamber with air therein. The support body includes first and second vial seats, and a transfer conduit. The first and second vial seats are arranged to receive the first and second vials. When the first and second vials are received in the first and second vial seats, the transfer conduit is arranged to establish a fluid connection between the first vial and the second vial. Upon activation of the dome portion, air is delivered into the first vial, thereby creating a pressure rise in the first vial which causes the liquid to transfer from the first vial to the second vial through the transfer conduit.
Devices and Methods for Establishing Communication Between Chambers in a Multi-Chambered Vessel
The present invention relates in part to vessels comprising a first chamber a second chamber and a seal separating the first and second chambers. In particular, the invention concerns means and methods for establishing communication between the first chamber and a second chamber of such vessels. Vessels of the invention may comprise one or more projections on an internal wall of the vessel and an actuator configured to cause the seal and the one or more projections to engage one another. The one or more projections are configured to urge a portion of the seal away from the internal wall upon engagement with the seal. This causes one or more channels to open between the first chamber and the second chamber. Vessels of the invention allow a user to establish communication between the first chamber and the second chamber at a desired time, for example in order to contact components contained within the chambers or in order to sequentially release components or doses of components from the vessel.
