CATHETER SYSTEM FOR ONE-HANDED GUIDEWIRE AND CATHETER ADVANCEMENT
A catheter system may be configured such that in response to the movement from a first position to a second position, a guidewire slider may push out on a catheter hub slider. The catheter hub slider is then removed from contact with a needle hub and may slide distally. The guidewire slider and the catheter hub slider may each include a tab to facilitate one-handed advancement. Another catheter system may be configured such that in response to movement of a guidewire slider from a proximal position to a distal position, a guidewire carriage uncouples from the guidewire slider. Further advancement of the guidewire slider may not advance the guidewire. Another catheter system may be configured such that in response to movement of a guidewire slider from a proximal position, the guidewire slider is configured to engage the safety housing and advance a catheter and a guidewire together.
INTRAVENOUS CATHETER LOCK
A catheter lock system includes a clamshell housing comprising a body and a cover; one or more interlocking tabs of the body having a hook feature; compatible interlocking tabs of the cover configured to releasably engage with the interlocking tabs of the body; a key with one or more protrusions arranged at two different angles; one or more lock disc cams including a cam feature; wherein a rotation of the key is operable to cause the interlocking tabs of the body to release from the compatible interlocking tabs of the cover using each of the one or more protrusions of the key.
Catheter system having a guidewire slider
A catheter system may include a catheter hub, a catheter tube, a needle carrier, a needle extending distally from the needle carrier and through the catheter tube, a guidewire slider, and a guidewire extending distally from the guidewire slider. The guidewire slider may be configured to couple to the needle carrier in response to sliding of the guidewire slider. The catheter system may include a safety slider configured to slide with the guidewire slider from a proximal position to a distal position. In response to the guidewire slider and the safety slider sliding together from the proximal position to the distal position, the safety slider may be configured to couple to a proximal end of the needle carrier. In response to rotation of an additional slider into a cutout tab of a housing, the guidewire slider may be configured to uncouple from the additional slider.
Intravenous catheter assembly
An intravenous catheter assembly comprising: a catheter tube; a catheter hub having a distal end and a proximal end, wherein the distal end is joined to the catheter tube and the proximal end defines a housing having inner space; a needle extending through the catheter hub and the catheter tube and defining an axial direction, wherein the needle has opposite proximal and distal ends, the distal end forming a needle tip; a needle hub attached to the proximal end of the needle; a needle guard slidably arranged on the needle, wherein the needle guard is movably retained in the housing of the catheter hub; a valve provided in the inner space in the catheter hub to prevent foreign contamination from entering the catheter hub; and a disc that is arranged proximal or distal to the valve or that is joint or linked to the valve.
Intravenous catheter assembly
An intravenous catheter assembly (410) comprising: a catheter tube (414); a catheter hub (412) having a distal end (422) and a proximal end (424), wherein the distal end (424) is joined to the catheter tube (414) and the proximal end (424) defines a housing (448) having inner space (467); a needle (420) extending through the catheter hub (412) and the catheter tube (414) and defining an axial direction (A), wherein the needle (420) has opposite proximal and distal ends, the distal end forming a needle tip (454); a port (464) extending outwardly in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction (A) from a sidewall (470) of the catheter hub (412); a needle hub (416) attached to the proximal end of the needle (420); a first valve (471) provided in the inner space (467) in the catheter hub (412) to prevent foreign contamination from entering the catheter hub (412); a blood control second valve (473) arranged within the inner space (467) of catheter hub (412) to prevent the outflow of fluid during and following removal of the needle (420) wherein the second valve (473) configured with a plug (475) also housed in the inner space (467) of the catheter hub (412).
