The front assembly includes an inner electrode, an outer electrode disposed outside the inner electrode, and an ultrasonic vibrator disposed on a rear surface of the inner electrode to generate ultrasonic waves. The rear assembly includes a thermoelectric element and a cooling cover cooled by the thermoelectric element.
Method of treating a patient and apparatus therefor
A method and apparatus for treating a patient by generating a first series of pulses having a frequency in a range from about 1 Hz to about 5 kHz, a voltage range from 0 (zero) volts to 100 (one hundred) volts, and a duty cycle of 1% to 90%; generating a second series of pulses having a frequency in a range from 5 kHz to 50 kHz, a voltage range from 0 (zero) volts to 100 (one hundred) volts, and a duty cycle of 1% to 90%; modulating the first series of pulses and the second series of pulses into a combined waveform of pulses; and delivering the combined waveform of pulses to the skin of the patient via an electrical circuit.
Iontophoresis-based patch type skin care device
Disclosed is an iontophoresis-based patch type skin care device for allowing a functional substance for skin care to be effectively absorbed into a user's skin by causing iontophoresis on the user's skin through a conductive patch. The iontophoresis-based patch type skin care device for allowing the functional substance for the skin care to be absorbed into the user's skin by the iontophoresis includes a skin care device body that generates power to cause the iontophoresis. The skin care device body includes a power circuit that is provided in an interior space of a body and that includes a power unit that generates the power for the iontophoresis and one or more electrodes to which the power is applied, and a bridge that is provided so as to be combinable with the body and that receives the power through the one or more electrodes. The bridge includes a bridge body provided so as to be combinable with the body and a plurality of bridge legs arranged along a circumferential direction of the bridge body and formed of a conductive material.
EYE MOUNTED DEVICE FOR THERAPEUTIC AGENT RELEASE
The present disclosure relates to devices and systems for targeted and controlled delivery of a therapeutic agent to a treatment site of an eye. Particularly, aspects are directed to a therapeutic agent delivery device that includes a polymeric substrate having a release region, a delivery region, and a receiving region; one or more reservoirs formed within the release region; a therapeutic agent disposed within the one or more reservoirs; an active, passive, or combination thereof controlled release mechanism for release of the therapeutic agent from the one or more reservoirs into the delivery region; and a circuit formed on the polymeric substrate, the circuit having a current source, a first iontophoresis electrode located within the delivery region for transport of the therapeutic agent from the delivery region into a target tissue via electromigration, and a second iontophoresis electrode located within the receiving region for maintaining electroneutrality within the tissue.
Adhesive earplugs useful for sealing the ear canal
Systems and methods are provided for sealing an ear canal for retaining a solution in the ear canal. Adhesive earplugs are provided through which the solution can be delivered, and which, following delivery, retain the fluid in the ear canal. The systems and methods may also be useful for delivering an anesthetizing solution to the ear canal of a human patient and for maintaining the solution therein for use with an iontophoresis system for anesthetizing the tympanic membrane.
System for the transdermal delivery of active ingredient
The invention relates to a transdermal therapeutic system (TTS) for delivering pharmaceutical active ingredients. The TTS includes a cover layer and at least one active-ingredient-containing carrier material. At least one retaining element is located between the active-ingredient-containing carrier material and the cover layer, with the retaining element fixing the active-ingredient-containing carrier material onto the cover layer. The invention further relates to a method for fastening an active-ingredient-containing carrier material to a cover layer of a TTS in the presence of hook-and-loop strip segments and the use of a hook-and-loop strip in transdermal or iontophoretic administration of pharmaceutical or therapeutic active ingredients to patients.
Use of composition comprising stem cell-derived exosome as effective ingredient for suppression or alleviation of pruritus
The present invention provides a composition for preventing, suppressing, alleviating, ameliorating or treating pruritus comprising stem cell-derived exosomes as an active ingredient. The composition of the present invention is able to act against pruritus-inducing multiple cytokine targets, for example, IL-4, IL-31 and TSLP, and thus is able to be widely applied against pruritus caused by various factors and is able to effectively suppress and alleviate pruritus. In addition, when the composition of the present invention is applied directly to human skin, it is able to remarkably ameliorate pruritus-associated clinical scores, erythema and the like. Thus, the composition of the present invention is able to be used as a pharmaceutical composition, a skin external preparation and a cosmetic composition for preventing, suppressing, alleviating, ameliorating or treating pruritus.
Skin care device and control method therefor
Disclosed are: a skin care device which determines whether, on the basis of a voltage fluctuation according to contact with the skin, the skin care device has been rubbed, and which blocks the output of current through an electrode when rubbing does not occur for at least a set time; and a control method therefor. The disclosed skin care device determines the state of the skin care device on the basis of sensing voltage corresponding to a change in current of a transformation module according to the outputting of alternating current into the skin through contact electrodes, and blocks the output of current of an electrode module if the skin care device is in a fixed state.
