Lingual repositioning devices have a mandibular piece having a teeth covering and a first housing proximate either a left molar portion or a right molar portion of the teeth covering. The first housing includes a stimulator protrusion extending therefrom at a position to extend toward a tongue of a user and to contact a lingual muscle of the tongue or includes a sensor portion extending therefrom at a position to extend toward a tongue of a user and to be positioned under the tongue. The stimulator protrusion encloses a stimulator and the first housing encloses a power source electrically connected to a circuit board and electrically connected to an electrode of a stimulator. A second housing at the other of the left or right molar portions has a stimulator protrusion or a sensor portion. The first and second housings may be removably attachable to the teeth covering.
MAXILLARY DEVICES, CONTROLLER STATION, AND METHODS OF TREATING AND/OR DIAGNOSING MEDICAL DISORDERS
Maxillary devices and Mandibular devices each have a first housing connectable to a tooth of a user or connectable or integral with a teeth covering, wherein the housing encloses an on-board circuit board and a power source. The first housing of the maxillary devices has a tooth connecting portion, a palate housing portion and/or a buccal housing portion. The first housing of the mandibular devices has a tooth connecting portion and a sublingual portion. Each of the palate housing portion and the buccal housing portion enclose a stimulator having an electrode electrically connected to the on-board circuit board and the power source, and can enclose a sensor and/or a medicament dispenser. The sublingual portion encloses a sensor and a medicament dispenser each of which are in electrical communication with the microprocessor of the on-board circuit board.
ORAL CAVITY TREATMENT DEVICE AND KIT
An oral cavity treatment device including a power component and a tray component that are detachably coupled together. The power component may include a housing having a cavity and a power source located therein. The tray component may include a tooth receiving channel and may have a first electrode and a second electrode located on opposite sides of the tooth receiving channel. The tray component may be detachably coupled to the power component in: (1) a first configuration whereby the first electrode is operably coupled to a positive terminal of the power source and the second electrode is operably coupled to a negative terminal of the power source; and (2) a second configuration whereby the first electrode is operably coupled to the negative terminal of the power source and the second electrode is operably coupled to the positive terminal of the power source.
BIASED NEUROMODULATION LEAD AND METHOD OF USING SAME
A neuromodulation lead that is biased towards a substantially omega shape when fully deployed is provided. The neuromodulation lead includes a left set of electrodes disposed on a left portion of the lead body of the neuromodulation lead and a right set of electrodes disposed on a right portion of the lead body of the neuromodulation lead. The neuromodulation lead can be positioned in the plane between the genioglossus muscle and the geniohyoid muscle.
Removable mandibular pharmaceutical delivery device
An oral appliance for the treatment of sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea, in a user is presented. The oral appliance may include a mouthpiece configured to receive a user's dentition. The mouthpiece may include an oxygen sensor, a pressure sensor, an airflow sensor, an actigraphy sensor, a noise detector, and at least one stimulator for providing stimulation to a user's tongue in the event of decreased oxygen saturation levels, increased pressure applied to occlusal surfaces of the user's dentition, decreased actual airflow levels and/or increased noise levels. The mouthpiece may be provided with pharmaceutical compound reservoirs that deliver pharmaceutical compounds to the oral mucosa of the user, which compounds treat symptoms of sleep apnea. The mouthpiece may further include a microprocessor that receives data from the oxygen sensor, pressure sensor, airflow sensor, actigraphy sensor and noise detector, and activates the at least one stimulator and/or pharmaceutical compound reservoirs.
ADJUSTABLE DEVICES FOR TREATING SLEEP APNEA, AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Intraoral electrical stimulation devices are disclosed. A representative device, which can be used to treat sleep apnea, includes an intraoral attachment body, a guide element carried by the attachment body and having a constrained guide path, and an electrode movably supported relative to the guide element and movable along the constrained guide path to a plurality of positions. A positioning member is coupleable to the electrode to move the electrode along the constrained guide path, and a signal generator is coupleable to the electrode to direct a stimulation signal to the electrode.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING A NEUROLOGICAL DISORDER
A method of reducing anxiety in a subject. In some embodiments, the method includes the steps of: providing an audio input to the subject, the audio input including a sequence of tones in a frequency range comprising about 100 Hz to about 8000 Hz and having intensities adapted to audiometric parameters of the subject; producing a plurality of actuation signals correlated with the audio input; delivering an actuation signal of the plurality of actuation signals to each of a plurality of electrodes in contact with a tissue surface of the subject's body to provide tactile stimuli to the tissue surface; and reducing anxiety in the subject.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR AUGMENTING AND/OR SIMULATING FLAVORS
Presented herein are systems, methods, and techniques related to delivery of simulated flavor sensations to a user while consuming (e.g., eating, drinking) food items. The perception of flavor is a multisensory experience as it involves not only taste, but other sensory experiences such as sight, sound, smell, and touch. Delivery of one or more sensory experiences to a user as the user is consuming a food item is able to augment how the user experiences the food item's flavor. For example, changing a smell or color a food item has affects how users perceive it when being consumed Changing perceptions through stimulating various senses can alter expectations significantly and in unexpected ways when delivering or combining stimuli. Accordingly in some embodiments, the present disclosure provides for technologies (e.g., device(s), systems and/or method(s)) for delivering simulated flavor sensations while consuming food items (e.g., solid food items, a beverage).
Systems and methods for treatment of an oral cavity
A method and apparatus for the concurrent treatment of multiple oral diseases and defects while promoting general oral hygiene utilizing direct current electricity and methods for manufacturing the same. Electrodes are used to deliver a direct current to the gingival tissues of a mouth in order to achieve a number of therapeutic, prophylactic, and regenerative benefits. These benefits include killing oral microbes, increasing oral vasodilation, reducing oral biofilm, improving oral blood circulation, reversing oral bone resorption, promoting oral osteogenesis, treating gum recession, and fostering gingival regeneration. Other benefits include the treatment of gingivitis, periodontitis, and oral malodor, and other systemic diseases correlated with oral pathogens.
