20230233843 · 2023-07-27 ·

A garment is wearable on an anatomical region and includes electrodes contacting the anatomical region when the garment is worn on the anatomical region. An electronic controller is configured to detect electromyography (EMG) signals as a function of anatomical location and time using the electrodes, and identify tremors as a function of anatomical location and time based on the EMG signals.

WIRELESS NEUROSTIMULATORS

Embodiments of the present disclosure include a method for treating a condition of a subject. An implant defining a longitudinal axis is implanted between a nerve and skin of the subject. The implant includes an insulating member disposed, along the longitudinal axis, on at least a skin-facing side of the implant. Exactly two electrodes are disposed, along the longitudinal axis, at respective portions of a nerve-facing side of the implant. While the electrodes are driven to apply a treatment that stimulates the nerve, the insulating member is used to inhibit direct stimulation of sensory nerve fibers of the skin that are adjacent to the skin-facing side of the implant. Other embodiments are also described.

Interpolation Methods for Neural Responses
20230023842 · 2023-01-26 ·

Methods and systems for using evoked neural response to inform aspects of deep brain stimulation therapy are disclosed. According to some embodiments, a series of evoked neural response signals are recorded, and one or more waveform features are extracted from each of the signals. The waveform features can be used as biomarkers and or control signals for informing aspects of the therapy, such as lead implantation/localization, optimization of stimulation parameters, and/or closed loop feedback for maintaining chronic therapy. Embodiments include a check to determine and classify if any of the recorded neural response signals or portions thereof are corrupted. In the event that any of the signals are corrupted, values for the waveform features for the corrupted signals are interpolated using uncorrupted neural response signals in the series and/or uncorrupted portions of the problem neural response signal.

SYSTEMS AND METHOD OF PRECISION FUNCTIONAL MAPPING-GUIDED INTERVENTIONAL PLANNING

A method of performing personalized neuromodulation on a subject is provided. The method includes acquiring functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data of a brain of the subject. The method also includes calculating functional connectivity of the brain between a voxel in a subcortical region of the brain and a voxel in a cortical region of the brain, based on the fMRI data. The method also includes identifying a target location in the brain to be targeted by neuromodulation based on the calculated functional connectivity.

The networks and methods of use are used to construct cardiac pacing, deep brain stimulation, and neurostimulation networks based on ultrasonic wide band technology.

Electrode position detection

Devices, systems, and techniques are disclosed for determining spatial relationships between electrodes implanted within a patient. In one example, a medical device delivers, via a first electrode, an electrical stimulus and senses, for each other electrode, a respective electrical signal indicative of the electrical stimulus. The medical device determines, for each other electrode, a respective value for each respective electrical signal. The medical device determines, based on the respective values for each respective electrical signal and values of tissue conductivity of tissues of the patient interposed between the first electrode and the other electrodes, spatial relationships between the first electrode and each other electrode of the plurality of electrodes.

Neural interface insertion and retraction tools

Devices and methods for manipulating devices such as micro-scale devices are provided. The devices can include a tether of various materials surrounded by a stiff body. The tether interfaces with microscale devices to draw them against the stiff body, holding the microscale devices in a locked position for insertion into or extraction out of tissue. The tensional hook and stiff body are configurable in a multitude of positions and geometries to provide increased engagement. Such configurations allow for a range of implantation and extraction surgical procedures for the device within research and clinical settings.

CONTROL METHOD FOR A NEUROPROSTHETIC DEVICE FOR THE REDUCTION OF PATHOLOGICAL TREMORS

The invention relates to a control method for a neuroprosthetic device, allowing to monitor and reduce pathological tremors in users via the stimulation of the peripheral muscles and modulation of the afferent pathways.

ECAP sensing for high frequency neurostimulation

Techniques are disclosed for implementing the use of electrically evoked compound action potentials (ECAPs) to adaptively adjust parameters of high frequency electrical stimulation. In one example, a medical device delivers electrical stimulation therapy comprising a train of electrical stimulation pulses to a patient, wherein the train of electrical stimulation pulses comprises a pulse frequency greater than or equal to 500 Hertz. After delivering the train of electrical stimulation pulses, the medical device ceases delivery of the high frequency electrical stimulation therapy for a predetermined period of time. During the predetermined period of time, the medical device senses an ECAP from the patient and determines, based on the sensed ECAP, a value of a parameter at least partially defining the train of electrical stimulation pulses. Responsive to the predetermined period of time elapsing, the medical device resumes delivery of the high frequency electrical stimulation according to the determined parameter.
