NEEDLE SAFETY ASSEMBLY
The present invention provides a safety needle assembly 10 for use with a medical injector 11 comprising in which blocking means comprising a control member 80 slidably displaceable along a longitudinal axis of a tubular housing 20 from a set position whereat the control member 80 engages a needle mount 60 to maintain a needle 12 in an operative position before use, thereafter attachment of the safety needle assembly 10 to the medical injector 11, the use thereof and subsequent detachment of the safety needle assembly 10 from the medical injector 11, causes the control member 80 to move away from the set position and disengage from the needle mount 60 and allow spring means 70 to rotate the needle 12 to the shielding position and to move a non-patient end 15 of the needle 12 towards a distal end 22 of the tubular housing 20 whereat the needle 12 extends at an angle oblique to the longitudinal axis of the tubular housing 20 to place the non-patient end 15 of the needle 12 at a location adjacent to an interior wall 26 of the tubular housing 20.
Self-pumping syringe
A syringe is provided. The syringe includes a syringe barrel including an open proximal end, a closed distal end, and a sidewall extending therebetween. The syringe also includes: a plunger having an annular sidewall configured to seal against an interior surface of the sidewall of the syringe barrel, the plunger being configured to move through the syringe barrel in proximal and distal directions; a pump in fluid communication with an interior volume of the syringe barrel, the pump being configured to draw fluid from the syringe barrel; and a nozzle including a lumen in fluid communication with the pump and configured to receive fluid drawn from the syringe barrel by the pump and to expel the fluid through a distal end of the lumen. The pump can be a valve-less piston pump.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SYRINGE ENGAGEMENT WITH INJECTOR
A fluid injector including an injector housing with at least one syringe port for receiving a syringe, and a locking mechanism associated with the at least one syringe port for securing the syringe within the at least one syringe port. The locking mechanism is configured for engaging at least one syringe retaining member of the syringe to releasably lock the syringe within the at least one syringe port. The at least one syringe retaining member rotationally guides the syringe into self-orienting alignment with the locking mechanism and is rotated by the locking mechanism into fully locked position after axial installation of the syringe into the at least one syringe port. The locking mechanism also axially ejects the syringe from the locking mechanism upon rotation of the syringe during removal.
SAFETY SYRINGE STRUCTURE
A safety syringe structure includes a combined structure of a syringe barrel, a needle retreater, a needle, and a plunger. The needle retreater and the plunger are slidably received in the syringe barrel. The needle retreater is arranged adjacent to the front end of the syringe barrel. The needle is coupled to the needle retreater. The plunger has an end extended to form a sharp tip and is provided with a plug facing the needle retreater. The sharp tip extends outside the plug in a direction toward the needle retreater. The sharp tip is movable with the plunger toward the front end of the syringe barrel to pierce into and couple with the through hole of the needle retreater; and the sharp tip is movable with the plunger toward the rear end of the syringe barrel to drive, through the needle retreater, the needle into the channel.
Luer connection adapters for retractable needle syringes
A connector mountable to a syringe barrel has a proximal barrel-engaging portion, a distal luer fitment portion, and a fluid aperture therethrough. The barrel-engaging portion of the connector includes an axial ledge configured to abut the axial distal edge of a glass syringe barrel. The connector facilitates mounting a luer assembly to the barrel. The luer assembly may be a tip cap having a complementary luer fitment for connection to the luer fitment portion of the connector. The luer assembly may be a luer needle assembly having a complementary luer fitment for connection to the luer fitment portion of the connector.
