Described is a system for decoding and validating memory consolidation. During operation, the system receives electroencephalographic (EEG) data while a subject is performing a specific task. Nuisance signals are then removed from the EEG data, resulting in a nuisance free signal. Skill feature vectors are generated from the nuisance free signal using time-invariant feature extraction. A skill classifier can then be trained for the specific task based on the skill feature vectors to generate a subject specific model regarding a memory replay for the specific task. Finally, electrodes in a neural cap are activated based on the memory replay.

METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND DEVICES FOR PAIRING VAGUS NERVE STIMULATION WITH MOTOR THERAPY IN STROKE PATIENTS

A motor-deficit-therapeutic method (for treatment of a patient who has hemiparesis) includes: providing, to the patient afflicted with a hemiparesis, a neurostimulator configured to stimulate a vagus nerve of the patient using electrical, magnetic, optical, acoustic or mechanical stimulation; and initiating stimulation of the vagus nerve by the neurostimulator so that at least a portion of the stimulation occurs at least during performance by the patient of a motor therapy session which is hemiparesis-therapeutic, thereby improving the patient's hemiparesis.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR NEURAL STIMULATION VIA VISUAL STIMULATION

Systems and methods of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods for treating cognitive dysfunction in a subject in need thereof. The system can include eyeglasses, a photodiode positioned to detect ambient light, light sources, and an input device. The system can include a neural stimulation system that retrieves a profile and selects a light pattern having a fixed parameter and a variable parameter. The neural stimulation system can set a value of the variable parameter of the light pattern, construct an output signal, and then provide the output signal to the light sources to direct light towards the fovea.

Non-invasive neuromodulation (NINM) for rehabilitation of brain function

A method to provide non-invasive neurostimulation to enhance a subject's attention span, concentration, multitasking ability, or alertness includes (a) engaging a subject in a brain exercise requiring use of the subject's attention span, concentration, multitasking ability, or alertness; (b) providing intraoral cutaneous stimulation of at least one of the subject's trigeminal nerve, facial nerve or lingual nerve by delivering electrical pulses to one or more stimulators situated within the subject's oral cavity, the delivery of electrical pulses occurring contemporaneously with the subject's engagement in the brain exercise; and (c) repeating steps (a) and (b) on a periodic basis.

SYSTEMS, METHODS AND DEVICES FOR PAIRED PLASTICITY

Systems, methods and devices for paired training include timing controls so that training and neural stimulation can be provided simultaneously. Paired trainings may include therapies, rehabilitation and performance enhancement training. Stimulations of nerves such as the vagus nerve that affect subcortical regions such as the nucleus basalis, locus coeruleus or amygdala induce plasticity in the brain, enhancing the effects of a variety of therapies, such as those used to treat tinnitus, stroke, traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, speech deficit or language deficit.
