System and method for enhancing learning relating to a sound pattern
Systems and related methods for enhancing learning of a sound pattern or relating to a sound pattern are described. A sound output corresponding to the sound pattern is delivering to the subject, and a learning enhancing neural stimulus is delivered to a cranial nerve of the subject in association with the sound output. The neural stimulus may be, for example, a transcutaneous neural stimulus. In an aspect, the subject is prompted to mentally rehearse the sound pattern. Electrical control circuitry controls timing of delivery of sound outputs and neural stimuli. In some aspects, the system is implemented in connection with a personal computing device.
Systems and Methods for Cooperative Invasive and Noninvasive Brain Stimulation
Methods and systems for optimizing invasive and noninvasive brain stimulation are described herein. In a particular embodiment, methods and systems for a combinatorial, iterative approach to modify behavior are presented wherein deep brain stimulation (DBS) and other brain stimulation therapies are implemented in combination with monitoring the brain activity of an individual to optimize the effectiveness of the combinatorial approach to modify behavior. Methods described herein are iterative and systems described herein are utilized in iterative fashion. In a particular embodiment, modifying behavior provides a therapy for an individual in need thereof.
BRAIN COMPUTER INTERFACE SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
A brain computer interface (BCI) system for modulating cognitive performance. The system includes one or more electrode sets for sensing signals associated with neuronal electrical activity in one or more cortical regions of the user and for providing stimulating signals to one or more target brain regions, at least one processor/controller in communication with the one or more electrode sets, and at least one power source. The processor/controller is programmed to process signals sensed in the one or more cortical regions for detecting an indication associated with an intention to perform a cognitive task and/or the presentation of a cognitive task and/or the performing of a cognitive task, and to control the stimulating of the one or more target brain regions responsive to the detecting of the indication for modulating the cognitive performance of the user. The target brain regions may include cortical regions, deep brain structures, and combinations thereof.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR NEURAL STIMULATION VIA VISUAL, AUDITORY AND PERIPHERAL NERVE STIMULATIONS
Systems and methods of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods for treating cognitive dysfunction in a subject in need thereof. The system can include a light source and a speaker. A visual neural stimulation system provides, via the light source, visual stimulation having a first value of a first parameter. An auditory neural stimulation system provides, via the speaker, audio stimulation having a second value of the second parameter. A stimuli orchestration component selects, for a first time interval, one of the visual stimulation or the audio stimulation to vary based on a policy, selects, for the first time interval, the other of the visual stimulation or the audio stimulation to keep constant based on the policy, and provides causes the one of the visual neural stimulation system or the auditory neural stimulation system to vary the one of the visual stimulation or the audio stimulation.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR IMPROVING COGNITIVE PERFORMANCE THROUGH CORTICAL STIMULATION
Methods and apparatus for improving cognitive function within a human. The invention utilizes a neurostimulation device, such as a signal generator, to affect tissue elements at a lateral temporal lobe of the human brain. The implanted device delivers treatment therapy to thereby improve cognitive function by the human. A sensor may be used to detect various characteristics of cognition. A microprocessor algorithm may then analyze the output from the sensor to regulate delivery of the stimulation therapy.
