An apparatus for production of French press style coffee via a process to immerse and steep coffee grounds in heated water in a non-oil-absorbing environment. Filtering a finished beverage from the steeped mixture through a microperforated non-oil-absorbing filter, where microperforations are sized to achieve sediments levels equivalent to or less than that of traditional French press, and filtration rate is enhanced via any combination of vibratory energy, air pressure, and air flow to the brewed mixture. The microperforated filter may be permanent and reusable, or may be disposable. The disposable filter is preferably made from flexible aluminum foil and recyclable. The apparatus and method support modification of filter size, microperforation size, perforation density, air pressure, air flow and vibratory action to vary beverage filtration rate and finished beverage composition.

A technique facilitates filtration of solids from a well fluid to during a pumping operation. The system may comprise a downhole pump, e.g. a downhole rod lift pump, having a pump housing through which a well fluid is moved during pumping of the well fluid. The pump housing is configured to receive a filter assembly which filters solids from the well fluid during pumping. The filter assembly may comprise a strainer having a filter section and a strainer bushing affixed to the filter section. The filter section may have a plurality of filter holes sized to aid in the filtration of solids. The filter assembly also may comprise a mechanical hold down having an interior sized to receive the filter section. An external bushing is secured to the mechanical hold down in a manner which holds the filter section within the mechanical hold down.

Therefore, the problem can be solved.

FILTER FOR A FILTRATION DEVICE

A filter, for insertion into an inlet duct of a water filtration system, has an annular upper end delimiting an opening around a longitudinal axis and defining a filter diameter. A side wall extends, around the longitudinal axis, between the annular upper end and a bottom wall that extends opposite the opening. The side and/or bottom walls have orifices to allow water to flow therethrough while retaining solid elements. The sidewall wall comprises a plurality of arms that each extend between a lower edge, connected to the bottom wall, and an upper edge forming part of the annular upper end. Each arm extends along an adjustable inclination so that the filter diameter is variable according to the inclination of each arm. When the filter is inserted into the inlet duct, the inclination of the arms is adjusted so that the filter diameter is adapted to the inlet diameter.

Filter device, hydraulic system and backwashing method

A filter device (10) includes a filter element (12) in a filter housing (14) with fluid connection points (16, 18) for the non-filtrate and filtrate. Fluid can be passed through the filter element in both directions for filtrating the non-filtrate or for backwashing for cleaning particle contaminations (72). A pressure control (36) generates a post-suctioning effect to improve the cleaning of the particle contaminations (72). The filter device (10) is designed as a one filter-element solution. In a predetermined exchange, the single filter element (12) for filtering can be used for backwashing or can be backwashed using the pressure control device (36). A hydraulic system (64) and a method for backwashing a filter element (12) of a filter device (10) is provided.
